Very nice, and very nice pictures (especially Big Boy Brown, Jesus).

Walcott above Sheppard sticks out a bit, although you've got them back to back...maybe Murray hit harder than Walcott in terms of pure power too?

Ya. I agree with you. I switched it. Thing is, I think highly of Walcott as a puncher. The man could knock you out with one punch with either hand. He scored a lot of one punch knockdowns/knockouts throughout his career. On film, and according to contemporary sources, the man was a big hitter. The guy certainly had a knack of flooring ATG champions. Walcott did score stoppage victories over Gomez, Sheppard, and Ray, and Murray. All of these men are in the top 10. This has to count for something.

Compiling this list, however, i have to take into account walcotts knockouts victories over Johnson, Charles, and KD of Marciano happened after 1949..so they do not count.

    Check this article out McGrain

Talks about Murray being the only one to match Hatchetman in 'pure power'

Something feels wrong. I have walcott at # 8, yet he stopped the #s 4-7 on my list?

Well try to keep in mind what an exeptional and sneaky boxer he was in addition to his being powerful. After all Ali stopped Bonovena & Foreman, two granite chins based upon slick, smart moves, accuracy trapping and timing (as well as punching power).

I would also like to say Ezzard Charles may seem a surprise, but the man scored very highly in knockouts over strong opposition. Charles had a knack of getting stoppage victories. He knocked out many world class heavyweights in the 40s(Ray, Bivins, Valentino) and knocked out a few big who had never been stopped before(Baksi). Charles knockout of Valentino with one right hand was classic. He also knocked out Archie Moore.

All three would be way up there. As would Lloyd Marshall, Ezzard Charles at 175lb, Fitzie Fitzpatrick, etc

Curtis Shepard's way too low. Archie Moore was adamant he was the hardest hitter he ever faced, that speaks volumes about his power, especially considering Moore's decades long career.

You wouldn't say that Marciano hits any less hard then all of the top five in your list, would you? By Moore's word he hit harder then Marciano, so take that as you will.
