No its the north american title. All the top 4 bodies have one , its really just a way of climbing the rankings without having to fight anyone dangerous.
The big difference between the north american titles and the EBU is the american titles will get you ranked in the top 10 while the EBU will get you ranked in the Top 20 with the WBC if your lucky.

I never see anyone bother even fighting for the Euro WBO belt. I think it's a good thing that Europe has a governing body of it's own without a world title, unlike North America (or does it?)

No it won't winning the EBU will get you in the top 10 with the WBC pretty much guarenteed and will you get a ranking with most others, the EBU although declining is still the best regional title in the world. These guys are ranked.

Sarritzu is #5 (WBC) # 12 (WBA) #4 (WBO) #5 (IBF) at Fly, Rendall Munroe is #2 (WBC) #7 (IBF) at Super Bantam, Yefimovych is #5 (WBC) #5 (WBO) #13 (IBF) at Feather, Kirikosyan is #4 (WBC) #5 (WBO) #7 (IBF) at Super Feather, Murray is #6 (WBC) #9 (WBO) at Light, McCloskey is #7 at Light Welter, Matthew Hatton is #15 (WBA), Ryan Rhodes is at #3(WBC) #4 (IBF), Brian Magee is #6 (WBC) #14 (WBO) #14 (IBF), Clev is #6 (WBC) #3 (WBO) #3 (IBF), Enzo is #8 (WBC) # 10 (WBA),

Darren Barker is ranked in the top 20 by the WBC think something like 17 but none of the others. He won the vacant European against an opponent who lost his last fight and wasn't a proved fringe world class operator and he holds basically no top wins not suprising really.

Yes, the real point of this thread was to show how unregulated these titles are and to highlight how some titles will get you in the top 10 without beating anyone and how some wont even though they are regulated and do enforce mandatories ....

Oh sorry my bad. I see your point and agree there are way way to many bs titles in Boxing. I don't understand this stand point of every fight has to have a title what a load of crap. If I was a manager there would be a select few titles I would go for. By the way which is the premier North American/US titles are there any regional titles which hold any prestige which are considered the genuine title for the US and North America?

I'm going to assume the NABO is somewhat regarded considering Roy Jones held the belt and the USBA is also on some people's radars since Bernard Hopkins also held it. But really there isn't any regional belt that is held with much regard in the US. I mean Mike Jones is the NABO champ for the Welterweight division but we know it wouldn't be a contest against any of the top 5 guys in the division if he fought them.

How can it be regarded when mandatories arent enforced? At least the EBU has mandatories.
