Correct. Samuel Peter rated # 2, and Corrie Sanders rated # 3. Vitali has never ever beaten a # 1 rated heavyweight contender in the division.

    Very, very poor return.

He also lost to the best fighter of his generation, and can't fight #2 fighter of his generation because it's his brother.

Who's the #3 HW of the era, aside from Vitali?

Unlike yourself, if I make a mistake I own up to it without acting like a crybaby.

I agree. Mendoza talks about all these Ring Magazine top 10 contenders Vitali has beaten(Arreola, Gomez, Johnson)...but bottom line is these guys were barely cracking the top 10. Vitali doesn't need to fight the #s 8 and 9s in the divisions. He needs to fight the # 1 and # 2s. His resume has been sorely lacking for a decade because of his lack of wins over quality top # 1 or # 2 guys. He blew his chance vs Lewis, but their have also been other top men to fight(which he didn't). I understand Valuev is ducking Vitali, but I also think Haye will fight Vitali...and that's a fight which could really help his legacy...a unification match against a young fast powerful heavyweight who is rated very highly.

Are you also going to address Rocky's avoiding Nino? After all he was the #1 man for a while, with a win over Charles...yet the slightly past his prime Charles gets another title shot?

Correct. If Wlad or Vitali is champ and #1, the best they can beat is #2.

Would you know of the top of your head how many guys he has boxed that is ranked at #4 or #5? Behind the Klitschko's and one other man?

Nino was #1 ranked for at least a year. Charles who had already suffered a 1 punch KO loss to Walcott, a loss to Marciano, and a loss to Nino somehow got a re-match with Marciano while the #1 ranked guy ( Nino ) never got his title shot.

Rocky did not duck Valdes. Neither did his management.

Sure seems like Marciano management planned to fight Valdes. Take a look

Rocky fought Charles, because Charles was the # 1 heavyweight contender Not Valdes. Take a look

Quite rightly given the first match was a close fight, wasn't the loss to Nino controversal?
