    Yep, bang on at #5.

I must say though, I was surprised to see Greb behind him on your list at 6.

Having Charles as a top five pick is a completely sensible and rational conclusion. What's truly frightening and awe inspiring is that he later claimed to have sensed the effects of the disease which eventually killed him while still at his peak. (Where it initially attacked Lou Gehrig's upper body, it first affected Ezz's legs, no doubt shortening his career drastically.) Can you imagine how long Charles might have successfully competed if he'd had the same good fortune in health that Moore enjoyed?

Not me, personally. Top 10, though, most likely.

SRR, Armstrong, Langford, Pep and Greb. Ezzard would be around #6 or #7 for me, though he has a strong case for top 5.

Who would you rank above him and why?

I think Charles's two wins over Burley are two of the best wins in boxing, especially the first one.

It´s reasonable to rak him very high. I think there is only a hand full of fighters that can be argued above them.

NO! But certainly somewhere between # 1 and # 25........ Between 175 to 184 pounds, Charles was pretty goddamn impressive as a stylist in the yrs of 1946 through 1951..........

I thinnnnnk so,,,,am debating endlessly on this list with myself. For those who take Robby number one I have a question, had Charles and he met at their bests (I know Ezzard would have been a little heavier here) who would you have taken? I think Charles would have shaded him and that adds something to this all time list to think about.
