In the past it used to be that people didn't catch sarcasm on the internet but nowadays it seems to be the opposite. Even sincere posts are thought to be sarcastic. :good

I think the Foreman-Liston handspeed poll was closer.

In my opinion, you basically have to manipulate the facts and do selective picking to really think it's equal or that Liston even has the better chin.

    Aye, you're right.

It also had far less room for subjective opinion, I would have said.

Hand speed might go to Liston, but its close............ Liston of the early 1960s also was a sharper puncher then the 1969 thru '77 Foreman ever was.......... Foreman didn't tighten and sharpen up on his shots until Gil Clancy came into view in 1975 or 1976, but Clancy wasn't given enough time to work with Foreman to make the chemistry work........

Suzie, the Great A explains my mistake best here. Crap I feel awful about this, my apologies to you. Your an honest talker and I guess I'm used to people at best giving "digs" when pretending to be nice to others. You deserved a thank you, not a bad response from me, please accept my apology.

    Timmers,

No Worries. I guess It's hard to determine the demeanor in which a person is saying something on the internet today. Just an honest mistake! :good.

Good Point. GreatA, did you ever get that Walcott-Charles I message i left you? I lost my copy, I would love to find a way to get that fight to youtube if you have a copy? Rounds 14-15 are the version you have, if you have it.

Not sure about this, they both were solid and young Foreman could be hurt but probably also faced heavier punchers than did Liston

I never saw Foreman hurt as a youth except for being dropped by the limited but powerful Lyle in 1976........... Both Ali and Young wore Foreman down with boxing and the high temps at ringside in 1974 and '77........ Foreman was gased-out in losing to Ali and Young.........

Check the second fight as well.

I'm not saying Foreman took loads of them, but the ones he took he seemed tremedously unaffected by considering how good a punch it was.
