A great match with bonafication added, however, I gotta go with V.K. over "The Spoon." V.K. is too dedicated and strong for the talented but often bored and lazy Tim Spoon........ This fight goes some rds, but Klit gets the TKO sooner or later over Spoon........ MR.BILL:bbb:hat
You constantly comment on a fighters build. I agree it is important as an indicator of condition but not the only one ... the Witherspoon that defeated Bruno beat a prime Bruno in London, coming from behind .. he had late round stamina and KO power ... in addition he had far more experience than the man who fought Holmes ..
Absolute nonsense. Witherspoon was a very good fighter in his day, how many "very good fighters" has VITLAY faced? The answer is 2, and he lost to BOTH of them. This would be a close fight, a very close fight. Being as I'd pick Bruno to beat either of the Klits then I'd go for Witherspoon personally but I'd bet that this one goes to the cards regardless, Spoon wouldnt get stopped by VITLAY, no chance.
I thought Spoon looked shitty but effective against Franky Bruno in the summer of '86.......... Spoon was a slobbish 233 or 234 pounds when he KO'd the chisled Bruno in London............ In my book, Spoon was in much better shape at 227 pounds when he out-boxed Tony Blubbs earlier in Jan. of 1986........ Now Blubbs waddled in at 244 pounds but somehow managed to box well for 15 rds with Spoon in dropping his WBA title....... MR.BILL
Fighting Weight, Put the crack-pipe down and get some fresh air....... Spoon and Bruno were indeed good fighters, but they ain't gonna match-up well against the K-bros............ :-nono MR.BILL
Spoon had decent hand speed when he was tuned properly, but his leg speed went south after he went up over 220 pounds....... The last time Spoon showed me decent legs was when he was 219 for Holmes in '83..... Spoon was a stalker for the most part......... WORD! MR.BILLhat
HeGrant. I think it's well known by most 1980s experts(I am not one of them) that Spoon looked blubbery and fat against Bruno. They also commented on how he looked slower than usual because of his excess weight. Sure he outlasted Bruno, but so did every other fighter who beat him in the late rounds. Bruno had god awful stamina. if you made it to round 11 vs Bruno, chances are you are going to win. Even in the Mccall Fight(his legacy win) bruno gassed late. Spoon had friggin man boobs against bruno LOL. he certainly did not have those against holmes. Yes a fighters build is big in determining if they are in shape or not....Sosnowski was obviously in very good shape against Vitali. More so than Vitali's previous opponents. Problem is, Sosnowski has no talent/skill.
I agree with all that, he definitely didnt have slow hands and had a great right hand but he was no Tyson in the footwork department and lacked top level speed to keep a cast iron behemoth like Vitali on his heels
Spoon did not look good vs. Bruno. When you talk with Fighting Weight, there are two givens. 1 ) He has something against the Klitschko's. 2 ) He's fond of British fighters.
1. I don't have anything against WALDO as a person. I don't like VITLAY much as a person but I don't mind watching him fight, he's overrated as hell though. As long as you keep picking him to beat every other HW that ever lived I'll keep picking him to lose against them, seems fair enough to me :good 2. I take it you've never read any of my posts about Hamed, Khan, Harrison, Calzaghe etc then?
Really?! Bonecrusher beat Witherspoon by TKO1 with 3 Knockdowns in December of 1986. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rN8jL3ylPU[/ame] I too think that Tim was underrated, however I reckon Tyson would have hurt and finished him early.
Absolute nonsense, you say? Your location is absolute nonsense! "Haye is the heavyweight Willie Pep." Hahaha!!! That is almost as big of joke as Haye himself. So you are a Haye fan/Klitschko hater? Good for you. I have noticed that people like you have a hard time dealing with reality. Bruno could beat them both??? No chin Frank? Get the f*ck outta here! You must be British to say something like that. Nothing against the Brits, but you guys should really get off of Bruno's dick. He was not all that good. Great jab, good power, NO CHIN!!! Formula to be stopped by the good heavyweights. What do you think the Klitschkos would do to him. You don't think Vitali could stop Witherspoon? I didn't actually say Vitali would stop him, I said Vitali would wipe the floor with him. You know, like he does with all of his opponents including Lewis and Byrd, you know, the two that you mentioned that beat him. Injuries beat him douchebag, not the opponents. But, if James "Bonecrusher" Smith can KO Witherspoon in 1 round, then I think Vitali could wear him down and find him late. So put that in your pipe and smoke it!
Your favorite fighter seems to be whomever fights Klitschko next. And of course you have your fan boy quote of the week, often taken out of context. I see you now think Haye is Haye the HW Willie Pep? Shameful. 9 out of your 10 posts are with a negative slant on Klitschko. I must have missed your comments on Hamed, Clazaghe, Harrison, and Khan.
