Vitali Klitschko's career defining moment?

He will be remembered as the guy whom Lennox Lewis refused to rematch after a very controversial, close fight, and who made the latter's decision to eventually retire an easy one.

 

An in-shape 38 year old Lewis would have absolutely anihilated Klitschko and made an even bigger mess of his face. Lewis had no obligation to pass the torch, he retired faded but still the very best in the world.

 

His legacy is he passed a candle.

 

Losing to an out of shape, unmotivated Lennox Lewis.

Every time Vitali-Lewis comes up, Lewis seems to get in worse shape.
Lewis was about 5lbs over his normal fighting weight, for someone of his size, that's not much at all. Sure he could have been in better shape, but he was not in bad shape.

You can easily make the argument that Vitali could also have been more prepared, as neither fighter prepared for each other (Vitali stepped in for Johnson, he was originally scheduled to face Cedric Boswell).

 

Lewis's physique looked reasonably good and he still had his fantastic power, but he clearly hadn't done his miles. If he'd come in prepared like a year earlier, Klitschko wouldn't have lasted too long.

 

His handling of Kirk Johnson the way he did, and so fast, was a very impressive performance......given that Kirk had never been taken out before, much less, taken out that quickly................and his only loss at that point was a disqualifiication to Ruiz.

The battering of Danny Wiliams was also a highlight, as were many of Vitali's earlier quick knockout wins.

The guy is one tough dude, who has skills that are underrated, as is his power. After so many said he was a mere arm puncher who could no longer knock anyone out, Vitali reaffirmed his knockout power against Sosnowski.

 

Lewis is his defining moment, everyone knew he could knock over most contenders but in that fight he showed he had big balls

V.K.'s defining moment / moments will prolly be his 2004 TKO over Corrie Sanders that pleased the crowd in Los Angeles to the max..... HBO also loved the fight as well.......

Also, V.K.'s comeback stoppage of Sammy Peter in Germany will not be forgotten soon by any fan of the K-brothers........

PLUS! V.K. boxed the ears off Cris Arreola in Los Angeles for a very high HBO rating in 2009..... In fact, I believe that event was HBO's highest score of 2009........

Like him or not, but when the K-brothers fight, the world of boxing tunes in........ 'Nuff said......

KO Power? Sosnowski basically fell over, man. Vitali Klitschko has no KO power anymore.

 

He absolutely fell over...right after getting hit by Vitali.

 

His eyes were open the entire time. Vitali has demostrated no KO power whatsoever since his comeback. Even against 3 C list fighters.

 

Vitalis career is his highlite reel.............no one beats him next 2-3 years and lennox is a lying **** for not giving him the re match he promised....Go Dr. Iron fist !!

 

He *fell over* after that jackhammer right hand hit him flush on the side of the head. That is not falling over, that is being knocked OUT.

 

Yes, not only the way he dominated Peter, and was never even remotely in trouble or close to being hurt, but also the fact that Vitali did it, C O L D with no tuneups, after being out for four years, and having had surgery while out.

Then taking on a titleholder and thrashing his ass, but good.

Never before had anyone in heavyweight history accomplished that before. :goodUnprecedented.
