1 thing we learned from the Cotto Fight, Mayweather would destroy him in his Prime

First let me congrad Cotto for getting another title. Now let's end all the Mayweather couldn't be a prime cotto talk, the way this guys defense responds to right hands is terrible! Mayweather would of landed with ease, let's not forget how hard it was for him to find a 1 legged Foreman who has decent leg movement, now take a second to think what chance he would of had finding Floyd.

Love Cotto, but prime Cotto would of lost to Floyd by a 1 sided UD.

This Cotto would get stopped by Floyd, so Cotto stay away and u should be fine at 154

I wouldn't be surprised if Mayweather had beat him, but who knows if a prime Cotto's pressure and body work could have made a slightly different story?

I'm not a mayweather hater and I wouldn't favor Miguel to win, but the best doesn't skimp out on game contenders and leave questions like these hanging for "what if's" to be argued back and forth. Tonight can't say much about what could or would or should have happened two years ago when welterweight was hot.

I just think Floyd is too fast especially the hand speed if he couldnt catch foreman he would be screwed vs a much faster and better offensivly floyd

prime he still loses i think but does ok id say hatton level

Floyd's speed would definitely be a problem countering any holes Miguel left behind, but he caught Foreman a good few times and was starting to wear him down; his footwork was matching him early on and he cut the ring off effectively.

he could catch him but could never corner him or trap him along the ropes and floyd is much more tricky alsi he leans and bobs something foreman did not do

What does this fight and a prime Cotto fighting Mayweather have in common. I just don't understand what connection you are trying to make?

If you want to say that PBF would beat a prime Cotto than fine but what and how you tie that all in with tonight's performance and prime Cotto is beyond me.

If you had to ask maybe you don't know boxing that well.

He fought a guy with good leg movement and a decent right hand that landed a couple times. Floyd has excellent foot movement and a good straight and counter right hand.

You're just not on the level of being able to see how other fighters styles would match up during a fight. Do yourself a favor never bet on boxing!!!

Cotto Floyd would have been a good fight. Floyd wasn't nearly as big as he is today or much of a puncher at welter (more feather fisted, actually). Cotto's got a great jab, body attack, and his stalking style would have posed some problems. It would be an interesting fight.

You shouldn't even compare Cotto to Hatton. Cotto in his prime was an elite level fighter. Hatton's not even in the same class.

Floyd would've stopped any version of Cotto which is why Arum made damn sure they never fought.

It's pathetic that Floyd has been around... and is still around fighting and yet we have to play this game with just about every top fighter out there around his division. Floyd shoulda, coulda, and woulda. Floyd piggybacks more wins and credit from fights that he wasn't in than any fighter in history.

Anytime you fight Cotto it is a battle as we have witnessed. Marg, Malignaggi and Pac

had to walk thru heavy firepower and were in a fight. I certainly see

this as a fight early but mid way Floyd takes over and wins late rnd tko or UD.

Floyd would disagree with you. Hence the "retirement".
