:good Fair enough, and I see where your coming from but i disagree a little... I think Williams and Martinez are two guys Cotto should stay away from. They both are big, have power, and lay it on you throughout the fight, but thats just imo.

I favor him fighting Mayweather (not favoring him AGAINST mayweather, just favor mayweather as an opponent over martinez and williams) for the power, workrate, and pressure departments alone.

Yes, Cotto probably has a bigger chance to win against Williams then Mayweather, but theres also bigger danger there, a worse penalty if you will (losing to williams is not held in the same regard as losing to mayweather) and without the possible chance to beat the man himself.

Id rather see him in with mayweather, and at least get a chance to see him try to be the first to ever beat him, and see these two in the ring since we havnt yet (both being top guys at 140, both being top guys at 147, the fight many have wanted for years now), and try his hand against a pot shotting boxer (however great he may be) like mayweather, then guys who bring big size, very good power, and who will be taking the fight to miguel in just the way miguel hates.

Martinez is, IMO, the worst person for Cotto to fight besides maybe kirkland... period.

and also like i said it comes down to i just want to see a fight between these two because its a fight that should have happened by now and it would just be nice to see for me personally, and i think Cotto will always, always put in better work against a usually low activity boxer who is more or less his own size, then a much bigger guy who can hurt him with one punch, be in his face, and has a high activity rate.... and then one has to think if he loses to martinez or williams by tko, it hurts his legacy a lot more then to drop a decision to mayweather, one of the true greats of our generation.

Just IMO....
