Of the 5 gyms I trained at or know of in England: 1) £45pm 2) ££70pm 3) £4 a day 4) £3 a day 5) £5pw Really most of them cost a lot, that's in pounds so all way more than $50 a month. The only exception is the 1 gym which cost £1 a day or £5 a week to train, its rare to find a gym like that though.
I don't think Roach would do any private training, he has enough clients. He makes a million these days per Pac fight and he has a lot of high profilers. He would have to charge £1000ph to even make it worth his while! There's always Sam Langford. lol.
That's very good, is your gym quite small, big? Maybe Im just in the wrong parts of England with these hella expensive gyms. Anyone else from England found some really cheap gyms?
It's a very blue collar gym. The place reeks of sweat and none of the equipment is state of the art, but I love every inch of the old shabby building. About 100 registered members I estimate but we only have 11 competing boxers.
I remember reading that Scott Quigg went to train with Roach for a month and it cost him about 5 grand.
Would be a great experience imo. What's your level? Because I guess it depends on what kind of group division they have (if any). If you are a novice there is a chance you will be put in a large group of other novices and girls, with probably 1 or 2 coaches who train this group. So you won't get a lot of attention. If that's the case then, imo, you're f*cked.
All comes back to the individual...the fact your surrounded by elite experienced fighters would definitely be a bonus as you can feed off their experience & expertise. Also, trainers want to see how committed you are to training before they even take you on board one-on-one. Every serious boxer wants to be a world champ when they start, less than 5% make it on the global scene...
Well its weird. I've been boxing on and off(VERY inconsitantly) for about 4 years. Ex. I train for a summer, the rest of the year off. I get MASSIVE ringrust b/c of this. It's like I'm learning all over again. But once muscle memmory kicks in I get back to where I was. As far as my skills, When I'm trained I can hold my own against some experienced fighters due to my natural speed and power. I usually train solo or with my friend who's more experienced and in shape than me. My plan is to train before I enter wildcard so I don't look like a novice Then I'll finally where I stand. Does anyone know how much 1on1 training rates are? I hate Boxing classes. They make me feel like I'm 12 years old.
Feed off what when your partner for the whole coming training session is a girl/guy who boxes there for recreational and/or conditioning purposes and is 10x less good as you? It's nice pro's might be walking meters away from you but they can't do anything for you at that point. Regarding the second half of your post I agree.
Your missing the point...Read my post again. If you don't know how to interact/communicate with experience pro fighters/trainers and feed off and apply, your missing out on valuable information. Remember, we are talking about Wild Card Gym here. The atmosphere/wealth of information/expertise available there is crucial to any boxers development. Your be surprised how many pros/trainers will help if you just ask...
