Now that Cotto has beaten Foreman and earned a title at 154 lbs., who should he fight next? There are a number of names that he could take on from 147-154 lbs.

If I missed anyone in the poll you would like, just say so, these are just the ones off the top of my head.

This poll is not about if he can win, that is for another day. This is simply to discuss who you feel Cotto should go after next.

On a side note, I knew Cotto would win against Foreman. Despite having great mobility and hand speed, if you can't hurt Cotto, the chances of you winning against him are slim. Poor Yuri was a 154 lb version of Malignaggi. And that knee injury did not do him any favors either.

Foreman rematch or back to 147. I honestly don't think he is big enough to hang with Marg/PW/martinez sized 154'ers.

Take an optional defense. Then go from there.

I'm inclined to agree with you. However, according to the post fight interview, Cotto only wants to fight big names (he's earned that right I think). Would Collazo be considered a big name for Cotto? I can see your point though. I had not even considered a Collazo fight.

Yeah, I heard Gomez wants a rematch :rofl (please note sarcasm, Gomez did not say he wanted a rematch).

Jim Lampley during the Cotto/Gomez fight

"Miguel Cotto landed 60 power punches against Gomez in that round. 60 power punches from some fighters may not mean much. 60 power punches from Miguel Cotto just shouldn't happen."

    Classic.

I would say Cintron. He is like Cotto a moved up WW. Excellent for Cotto to gain some experience at this new weight class before facing the real dangers. Cintron may be a ***** but can that ***** punch... :D

Margarito, would bring in a ton of money and would give cotto a chance for revenge, and margarito/pacquiao has less chance of happening.

I like to see him with Manny at 154 no catch weight. I think the reason he lost badly in the first fight because he didn't have the right fighting plan. Now with the new trainer, just stick and move and throw out the jab - right at the open bell (just like he did in the last few rounds with Manny). Start from round 1 he could retain the energy and he should be fine.

For Manny Pac, it is a perfect fight for him for the history (8 division champ.).

For Cotto, redemption with saying the first fight was because of the trainer and the weight.

Cotto should go back to 147 and fight Berto. That is the biggest payday he can get and still be in contention for a win.

Cintron would be decent. Although id hate to see cintron given another payday after his pathetic antics in the williams fight.

So maybe williams, or even go down to 147 and fight berto although i think Berto is considering moving down to 140.

I still think he owes clottey a rematch
