ESPN FNF $25,000-$35,000 (£17,000-£24,000) If it's a really good show they occasionally tip $50,000 (£35,000)
    ShoBox $50,000 (£35,000)
Enhanced ShoBox (i.e Bute-Andrade) low six figures (£75,000)
Lower Showtime Championship Boxing $500,000-$750,000 ($350,000-$500,000)
High end Showtime Championship Boxing (i.e Super Six) $800,000-$1,500,000 ($550,000-$1,000,000)
    HBO WCB $1.25 million upwards (Cotto-Foreman $2,000,000)
    HBO BAD $400,000-$1,000,000

I can give you examples of specific fees for fights. Dawson-Tarver II $4,000,000 lol no wait a second I understate LMFAO!

There is a chance starting on Monday 14th June to show ESPN that there is a real boxing market. There is a ten-part series on called British Boxing Heroes. It runs each night Mon-Fri for two weeks. I introduce it and keep it flowing but it is all about action from British rings in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
If we can lift the figures up from what they are expecting then that could help persuade ESPN to buy Sauerland and Top Rank fights.
I deliver Naz, Woodhall, Calzaghe, Finnegan x 2, Minter, Bob Foster, Honeyghan, McGuigan, Buchanan, Bruno and a few others.

    Adios.

Boxing is never given a chance. It gets no advertising, the main events are often ****, the undercards are shitter, the fighters don't come to fight, the undercards are on ITV4 or given no concentration, trinkets are being fought for rather than restoring worth in the domestic belts (this is happening recently) etc etc

Any semi decent match up, big name, advertised bout gets good numbers.

I think there is definately a better chance with ESPN than there is with any of the other media outlets. This is the response I got off of them when I sent them a lengthly letter about the chances of getting the Boxing Hour on ESPN:

As you can see, it's definately not a 'no'. How much can the Top Rank rights cost anyway? I hope they do change their stance.

That seems very low i doubt that covers the purses

There isn't enough pressure to deliver in this country Sky just give you a date and you put on whatever you want as long as it involes a title. Just look at this Fridays show absolute dog muck as have so many others this last year.

Here is my idea for a ESPN Boxing Show. They would have two dates a month. Pay a straight up £40,000 Licence Fee for the event, then there would be extra pay based upon the viewing figures i.e. £10k Bonus for 30,000+ viewers, £20k bonus for 50,000+ viewersw, £50k bonus for 75,000+ viewers, £75k bonus for 100,000+ viewers and an extra £50k for every 50,000 + viewers after that. And there would be no title rule involved only good solid fights with a decent undercard would be accepted.

I know crazy and when you sign a contract with them you give them all the rights for international tv and sponsorship as well. The difference though is that US boxing can bring in Casino's and that there is the fundemental difference between US and UK Boxing these guys pay big licence fees to bring Boxing to their casinos especially when TV is involved. Personally I love FNF for the most part they pick up some very good fights and they make decent cards, it's how a weekly Boxing series should be.

I know that the Glen Johnson card that also had Guilermo Rigendaux appearing on the show ESPN paid $50k for the licence fee. But that would be because G Johnson only got a purse of $12k :admin

$12k is only about £8k? Its strange how you hear of some boxers being on seemingly amazing contracts with garantueed paydays ie Olympians but a top level former belt holder in an eliminator can only get $8k. I would say Warren should have a regular friday night show evey month or so

He is the only promoter other than Bob Arum that could put on a weekly show and still have it at a decent level. He has loads of decent fighters who are main event quality and he has even more supposedly top top prospects. I would love to see him get a new TV deal where he would get 15-25 dates. The reality is he has the best British Boxers and if you are a fan of British Boxing you need a strong FW because he is our best promoters by an absolute country mile. My only worry is that I think he still lives in those day where he got a £50million deal and grossly overvalues himself and due to this prices himself out.

I agree would be great not only for his prospects but for boxing he has all the quality in British boxing but deprives us of seeing them by putting them on PPV undercards or big arena shows. Guys like Heffron Walsh bros etc could all do with fightin more regualrly. I agree however that i think Frank basically doesnt want to seem to devalue himself by doing the FFN shows

Figures and statistics can be used to prove anything hence the saying, there are three types of lies: Lies, damn lies and statistics.

Many of the viewing figures are misleading because they don't take into account the timing, day of the week, amount of advertising of the event etc. The OP gives the figures for Khan vs Malignaggi the third repeat on ITV4, but fails to mention that the second repeat on ITV1 on a sunday morning did over a million and 3 times as many as the FA cup repeat on the same day.

Agreed there are so many factors which is why Darts get's better figures it clearly has an advantage over FFN. BTW I wasn't delibaretely trying to be misleading I was just showing the official figures and BARB only show figures that are either in the top 30 for a week on BBC,ITV,C4,C5 or top 10 for any other channel.
