I'm sure many people's opinions have changed during the fight last night...I think he's one of the best in the game right now, we need more refs like him. Not only do I think the decision to let the fight go on was :good, but also the way he handled the situation when Yuri's mouthpiece fell out.
He's an old school referee, which automatically makes him better than average. He wants to give the fans a good fight and he should be applauded for that. Many referees would have stopped the fight last night bit he didn't and it was the right move. It wasn't just last night though, he's always been a really good referee.
That definitely isn't the first time a Referee tossed a towel back out of a ring. The Unified rules of boxing clearly state only the referee can stop a fight, the corner's and doctor's opinion are only to be taken under advisement.
he's knows what he's doing. i just find him abrasive, loudmouth, and partronizing at times. seems like he's trying to hog the spotlight by constantly talking to the fighters and telling them to "suck it up". i mean i think foreman knows that, he doesn't need a loudmouth ref to keep saying that.
well kenny bayless doesn't hold hands. i'm just saying he seems like he wants to be in the spotlight more than any other ref. i mean i prefer him over laurence cole.
I wasn't impressed yesterday. He had no clue who threw in the towel, but didn't even ask before continuing the fight. He gave Foreman opportunities to continue when his knee was hurt because "he didn't want to see him go out like that", but when Foreman was knocked down, he didn't even count, just waved it off.
i still think the best is bayless, and weeks. i like vic drackulich. he's flying under the radar. if i'm spiritual i like the ref that did the cross and said in the name of the father the son and holy spirit. that was on espn a few weeks ago.
