Cotto did look good overall. Steward won't turn him into a genius in the ring anyways. Yuri Foremen is a decent fighter with good skills at 154lbs and if he had a bit more pop, he'd be able to compete on par with anyone at that weight. It was an "in house fight" and if Spinks or Martinez were company fighters, then we most likely would have seen Cotto vs one of them.

That Cotto win is good although nothing to brag about, but if we look at the resume of any past or present top names, we see that many have names like that where they collect belts while moving up, without necessarily fighting top notch competition :

It was neither special or amazing but it was really good to see Cotto beat up on an opponent that a lot of people picked to win and that many thought would give Cotto some stylistic problems. It was simply good to see him have a pretty solid outing.

Based on your premise, Cotto beat one of the weakest champ. I can agree with you. Cotto needs to fight the best like Martinez and Williams.

Really? He's 37-0 and the only decent name on his resume is Joel Julio and in his last fight, he fought a FORMER KICKBOXER. So in your words...:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Awesome amateur and good skills but in the pros, as soon as he stepped up his comp., he never recovered from the outcome...

Just like in any sports, accomplishments are what make the difference at the end of the day.

Over time, many guys have less skill and accomplish more with what they have, therefore they're looked at as better competition when it's all said and done.

Let's say you are right and Foreman was handpicked. Cotto still fought all the best of 147lbs and you can't take that from him.

First fight coming off a brutal loss and first fight at 154 being a championship one..i think it's pretty special. Just because foreman got knocked out you guys are saying he's sucks, well he doesnt..He just got beat by the better fighter

If I remember correctly, you can also put Vitali Klitschko on that list of ex-kickboxers turned out, at least decent in boxing.
