cotto arrives to PR with not much fan fare

    Juat wanted to post this video of miguel cotto arriving to Carolina International Airport in PR. Unlike other fighters from the island like tito trinidad and juanma lopez not many people went to see him upon his arrival. I think cottos personality which he is an introvert hurts him with his public acceptance in PR. In the other hand juanma lopez who started just a couple of years ago already has surpassed cotto in the love from his people back home.

    wow man its sad seeing this since cotto really is a true champ and a true warrior but he kinda did it to himself sadly

    That was actually pretty sad to see, a shame he's not more appreciated. Maybe it's because he's a 140/147/154 pounder and therefore in the same range as Tito, maybe it's one or the other for a lot of Puerto Rican's?

    Well what i meant by this is that prior champs like tito, and even newer ones like juanma are seen as being the peoples champ, they are allways at public events allways "around town" and make themselves more accesible to their public, nothing against cotto but the puerto rican people just dont really "connect" with him... (i would have been ther if i had the chance:good)

    People were busy or he has some making up to do after the Pacquiao starching!!!

    He used to have throngs at the airport and even many more at town receptions upon his return.

    **** that, i hope Cotto doesnt give two shits.... real boxing fans love him, hes payed well, and is one of the biggest names in the sport... just seem like a bunch of butt hurt pr fans who dont dig him because he keeps it real on who he is and doesnt act like they think he should? **** em then.

    Eh. Who cares? If I was Cotto, I wouldn't want a bunch of people swarming around me like it's god damn Beatlemania. I'd be making a bee-line to the car with total peace of mind. He's a huge star, his career seems to be on the upswing after terrible setbacks, and he likes privacy. Good for him.

    Tito and Juanma announced their Flight numbers, time of arrival and airline after every fight. I still have not seen Cotto do it.
