Mavrovich was a Euro Champ bum just like Sosnowski. A nobody. Just Lewis fought a terrible fight that gave away all his advantages in reach and control of distance. Lewis allowed Mavrovich to get into the fight that should have really been a one-sided beatdown. It wasn't uncommon for Lewis to underestimate his opponents.
Fool, he had one loss and Lewis stated it was his toughest fight ever. Marovic would have killed Tyson, Wlad no problem, he was a great fighter.
Damn. Huge props to Mavrovic for his beard. He took some huge shots and just kept on coming straight forward.
If he went 12 with Lewis, who is a sharper puncher than Wlad (more variety), then he can go the full distance with Wlad. Tyson couldn't KO guys like Mitch Green and Tony Tucker, so Mavrovic definitely has a chance as well.
Nope; he had the bad luck to contract a wasting disease and dropped something like 30 pounds. Put paid to his career. On the plus side, he eventually recovered and has been a big mover & shaker in the organic foods market for the past several years! Mavrovic had a great chin. Even Felix Savon praised it.
He showed heart and chin against Lewis, and even some skills... it's a pity he didn't fight anyone of notice beside Lewis, but as he retired before he had 30 fights I would say he was wasted potential rather than a bum. I'm not trying to make him any better than he was (in terms of achievements I have to agree he is close to Sosnowski), but in terms of potential, based just on the fight with LL you can easily imagine him being a titleholder in few years time.
If Mavrovic took those bombs from a prime Lewis, what makes you think there is "no way" he can last 12 with Wlad and Tyson? Wlad is not the most aggressive guy, or he does he have quite the arsenal of punches and varied attack that Lewis did. Some guys went the full distance with Tyson, if you fought a more defensive fight and clinched a lot, your chances were better in this regard. And although it doesn't appear that Mavrovic had that mentality, as Mike said, "everybody has a plan until they get hit".
The thing is that this is one of Lewis' worst fights. He boxed a terrible fight from a strategic point of view. He went into the infight with a shorter guy and thus gave away many of his advantages. A terrible Lewis fighting a dumb strategy does not allow predictions for a prime Wlad boxing from a distance with a stiff jab and hard right hammers. I don't see Mavrovich lasting the distance against today's version of Wlad.
YOUR A MORON,, the fight is heart out and gave lewis a good fight shut the **** up you know ****:think
