Where does all the Cintron hate come from?

Why do so many people feel the need to insult Kermit Cintron on such a personal level? When I read some of the things that people say about him, I think about how emotional people get when other fighters are criticized in similar fashion.


Call any other fighter a *****, and the first thing people talk about is "He's a professional fighter who has done things you could only dream of!" I seriously don't get it. And one thread even asked whether he should be blackballed or not. And then you have a guy whose ass he already whooped and even he's talking ****. Kinda weird and really unfair. I understand he's had some weird fights, but look more closely:


Martinez: Yeah he really didn't deserve a draw in this case, but you really can't fault him for pleading his case. That dumb-ass judge is the one to blame.

Williams: I was there. And I was not rooting for him, obviously. But I really don't think he hopped out of the ring. Although, I will say, that one gif from the opposite angle looks really bad for him. I do think he was physically able to continue, but he probably didn't want to risk it. If Paul, Peterson, Goosen, and others who had the most to lose from the whole debacle, can give him the benefit of the doubt, I think you guys could do the same.

Margarito: This is the one that really puzzles me. He gets beaten by Margo, and being the "*****" that he is, he gets back in the ring for more.:huh He was beaten again, and had somewhat of a psychological breakdown. But he never "retired" or any **** like that. He pressed on. How does he not get the same type of sympathy for going against a guy who possibly was loaded? Yet, some other guy, who I refuse to name in this thread, has the whole boxing community felling sorry for him because they believe Margarito had loaded gloves. Clearly a double standard here.

As I've said before, he and Arreola are probably the most down-to-earth guys I've met outside the ring. He's just been in some tough fights. He's still extremely athletic and packs a punch. I wouldn't count him completely out against anyone at 154 (as long as he decides to stick around for the whole fight.)
