I dont get this logic. Pac was 135, he could have asked DLH to come to 135, instead DLH moved down from 150 to 147, Pac 135 to 147. Pac gave up 12lbs, DLH 3lbs, they both came in at weights they were disadvantaged at, clearly Pac coming in 12lbs more was a bigger one. Same with Cotto fight, Pac moved up 7lbs from his last weigh in, Cotto moved down 1lb...where is the unfair advantage in Pac's favour?

    Explain....?

Oh these young new boxing fans....You guys will learn in time...for now we just need be patient with you guys.

It is easier to NOT weight drain, than to weight drain.
It is even harder to come down in weight to a weight you haven't fought in and have outgrown long before. REALLY!

It happnes often when a fighter loses muscle to make weight.

Losing water is one thing, losing muscle has devastating effects in boxing.

In the DLH-Pac fight for example. Pac actually GAINED about 5 pounds of muscle and came in fully hydrated, while Oscar lost several pounds of muscle and much needed water.

    Comprendes mendes?

Safe to say that a rematch won't sell as well as their first fight considering how much of a one-sided affair it was. With a lack of casual fan interest, I don't see how Arum can move forward with this potential fight.

It's futile in every sense of the word.

i guess it'll be good for cotto where he don't have to come in at the catch weight of 145 lbs. catch weight might be at 150 or 151 but he'll be stronger than he did at 145

If you keep on repeating it, it might become true. Nothing wrong with dreaming. Unfortunately, Pac is the best fighter in the world with the Fighter of the Decade to prove it. Floyd is the distant second. At least he is still the second best Fighter of the Decade. Much props to him for achieving that unbelievable feat of being second best fighter in the world with Pac as the only fighter better than him.

****ing wrong with this forum. Pac moving up to 154 levels the playing field? :patsch
This is another indication that Pacquiao is in an entirely different level. When people thinks it's fair to 'tie down one of his hands' to 'level the playing field.'

Or you actually meant to say to even up the odds?

That's exactly how I see it. First of all Cotto's corner wasn't worth ****. Everyone used to say(including Roach) that Cotto was training by himself with his assistants. I think the addition of Steward has made a great difference when it comes to strategy and sticking to a plan.

Also, people have to take into account that his last performance was at 154 with 10oz gloves against a bigger opponent who fights tall. IMO Cotto was moving gracely, with great footwork and seemed to be moving with the same speed he had at 147. When he fought Pac he was at 145. Making this fight at 154 would make it a really competitive fight. I'm not saying he beats Pac, but it would be a MUCH more competitive battle.

    total joke of a fight.

It cheapens Pac's first victory over Cotto that already has an * for the 145 catchweight.

I'd only want to see that if Cotto started showing a real comeback.

If Pac wants Cotto title, why should it be a catch weight to suite Manny? He's fighting for a belt at 154 not 150, 147 or 143. This is one of the reasons why it's hard for me to look at Pac as being great. If he fought Oscar at 154 the fight would of gone a lot different, the fight with Cotto probably would have gone different as well.
