for what? cotto would get koed again. the first fight showed that cotto could not deal with pacquiao speed, ao how is that gonna change in a rematch? as a matter fact the only fighter that can deal with that speed is mayweather

The first fight showed that as long as Cotto boxed he had the upper hand, it was only when he brawled Manny speed was more effective. If Stewart can keep Cotto focus with more boxing and less brawling while fighting Manny, Cotto might be able to beat him.

I think Cotto could do better in a rematch.

But it could also be a career ender for him. I much rather see him against some other opponents first.

nope, while cotto started of well, he couldnt sustain and balanced attack because of pac's speed. he was lanind could jabs and backing him up, but when he opened up to try to land hard shots, he got tagged with punches he couldn't see coming. the speed difference was apparent and was the major difference.

Cotto would do a little better...for five rounds he was very tough in the KD rounds Cotto was winning them subtract the KD's it was very close at the mid point. Now Cotto is no longer killing himself to make weight Manny a guy who comes in at 144 145 at 147 seems maxed out he has to eat to be that heavy he cant get over 147 Cotto will not let his weight be played with he will come in at 154 not a catchweight and gain ten plus over night unlike the first fight

also he has steward one of the best out ther unlike the first fight

combine knowledge from the first bout with a better trainer and better preparation matched with not cutting so much weight and having a real size advantage he'll do better maybe not win

i always pick against Manny and i am always wrong now so i'll say manny still wins but its not the walk over the first bout was

and if he doesnt get floyd in the ring this is one of the few guys i'd actually care to see him in with

LMFAO, damn we got ODLH's nutritionist on ESB!!!

What you're talking about is called COMMON SENSE. Just because Oscar hasn't made 147 in since 2001 doesn't mean he can't. It just means he's had NO fights at 147 since 2001, therefore not needing to go to 147. Pretty simple.

Now, saying that Floyd can't make 144 is a fact, since he literally couldn't make 144.

Other than that, nothing you said is actually true. You basically assumed everything like an idiot. Unless....you have a link somewhere explaining what you said.

Edit: I'm talking about this part btw: "In the DLH-Pac fight for example. Pac actually GAINED about 5 pounds of muscle and came in fully hydrated, while Oscar lost several pounds of muscle and much needed water."

I think the main problem was that Oscar after losing all that weight and being the lightest he had been in years whuch he claimed was easier than we thought was not the problem the real damage was that he did not rehydrate over night he weighed 145 on friday and the next night rather than gain ten or fifteen he gained just two coming in at 147 thats what killed him

If Cotto can beat Margo then he earns another shot at Pac. But for now, i don't think he is ready.

Apparently beating or having a close fight with Paul Williams makes you the second best fighter right? :bart

2 of the most exciting boxers in the world (and 2 of my favorite to boot) but
I have no interest in seeing this fight take place.

You must be talking without thinking or knowing all the important facts first. Why do you expect DLH to gain ten or fifteen pounds when he is already at 147lbs two weeks before the fight? His strategy was to come in light to cope up with Pac's speed. His team already assumed that DLH would come in as the stronger guy. They were sorely mistaken.

Yuri Foreman was overrated. Cotto still has not proven he can beat a really good fighter at 154. Pacman just wants to win the 154 pound title. I doubt it will happen. Cotto should fight Margarito.
