but its a backward step for haye and real boxing fans (rather than beercan fans) will see it for what it is - a backward step and an acknowledgement that haye is riding off publicity from the klitschko's (as someone said above) but has no intention of fighting them - not until they are in their 40's anyway....

Exactly. It doesnt sound like the words of a camp ready to make a deal with Audley.

Haye keeps taking on weaker and weaker opponents every time he fights. How's this supposed to help him with facing Klitschkos if he ever does that? It's a road to nowhere. A disgraceful retirement seems to be on the cards.

haye isnt a joke. he fought valuev and that takes balls for a fighter who has barely stepped foot in the HW division. but it does look like he playing his fans with his talking game so he can milk easier fights.

Now tell me if fighting Ruiz and especially Harrison is going to advance Haye's boxing skills? Talking and "milking fans" aren't gonna hand him a victory over far more superior fighters which the Klitsckos are. As I said, Haye's bout trajectory is clearly pointing downward not the other way around. I can't see him fighting Klitschkos at all if he goes ahead with Audley.

same here. ruiz was a mandatory and audley is unnecessary. but the only people who call haye "a joke" are people who's balls shrink in real life as soon as you put them in the squared circle.

there's a big difference between "boxing fans" and people who love the sport becasue they've lived it.

Absolutely. David Haye is not a joke. He's a good fighter (unlike his personality) But the way he goes he's not going to get any better.

what he has in his corner is youth. the klitschko's don't.

I don't get you. Are you saying that Haye's best strategy would be to wait for the K's to retire without actually fighting them? There's no youth in his spirit - that's about it

i think if he's going to fight one or both of them then he's waiting. he's pulled out of fights with both of them already....

it's a wishful thinking, my friend. I see no indication of this happening. The only sign of Haye's changing his mind would be his fight against one of the guys either of the Klitschko has already beaten - to get an indirect assessment of his odds in the actual fight.

IF Haye was to fight Audley then that would be without dout a cowardly move...However the thread title is misguiding because the article IMO,whilst acknowledges Audley, also identifies the exact reason why Haye cannot take the fight. His credibillity will be shot to pieces and the fans he has picked up through his direct approach thus far in his career, will have no choice but to abandon the wagon.

When the music hit,"Ain't no stopping us now...We're on the move!!!",I dunno about the other fans of Haye, but I genuinely thought this was the beginning of an exciting voyage through the HW division lead by the main man that is David...However it is almost a spit in the face to all of us who stuck by our guy, to not only fight two times in 1 1/2 years, but also pick Audley "A-Bum" Harrison...

Harrison will get destroyed and then once again were waiting 7 months to likely be dissapointed again.

So this is why Haye simply cannot take this fight and TBH I beleive he won't.It might be to do with business tactics of showing the Klit's that his not just waiting on them, or it might Adam simply replying to a specific question based on Audley. But yeah the rumours are making me a little edgy especially with the little progress made after Valuev.

I think The Haye-maker camp have gone from trying to make a statement with nothing to lose and balls to the wall approach at the start of this campaign, to gaining a huge status as an A list celeb in Britain, money maker and a potential Heavyweight ruler...This has caused this passive and strategic chain reaction which in turn could lead to the undoing of Haye from what made him such a hit in the first place.

I used to like Adam Booth's reasonably unprofessional, but direct approach to management and addressing the fans on what is next and why.Now all that comes out of his mouth these days are this, that and maybes on who they are fighting and why every bum out there is a justifiable next opponent...

Now is the time Haye to justify your decisions in the past and step up to the brothers and if that needs putting off for one more fight then so be it,but please don't waste everyone's time by fighting that joke!!!
