As I have said in other threads, I think Cotto is a bit more competitve against Pac if the fight is at 154. I still think Pac would probably take it, but it would be a lot more difficult. I originaly thougt he whips his ass easily, no matter the weight... I change my mind after rewatching Pac-Cotto and Cotto-Foreman.

But I doubt this fight would ever happen at 154. I think Roach would ask for - and receive - a catchweight somewhere near 150. First of all, I think it would be plain dispicable for Pac to just use Cotto as a Catchweighted Revolving Door for collecting belts in multiple divisions.:-(

If I was in Cotto's corner (imagine that ****!) I would be dead against anymore fights with Pac if he can't just fight at the maximum weight, especially if there is another belt involved. If he wants to be recognized historically for the achievement of winning all these belts, he should do it the way most others do.

As far as the fight itself? At any weight below 152 or 153, Pac whips his ass 10 out of 10. If Cotto fights at 154, without some type of rehydration clause (I don't know if there was one the past?) I think he would give Pac all he can handle and more.

    147 - Pac TKO10
    154 - Pac Controversial SD

It would be more competitive at 154 but I think 150 would be a more level playing field.

There is no way that Pac is at his best if he fights at 154, he's at his best at 140.

So basically to answer your question - for a fair fight, fight at a catchweight or at 147. For a competitive fight, fight at 154.

The first fight was a fair fight anyways

Not sure what you mean by 'fair' here.

Any fight where the same conditions apply to both fighters is 'fair'.

The only time it's unfair is when you see one fighter make the contracted weight and the other doesn't bother.

Just read at the s**ne that Cotto is not opposed to the rematch @147 ..Even though Manny owned him I will still root for Cotto just for trying to avenge that loss if he gets the chance again ..

Man, as frustrating and annoying as the catchweight topic sounds..i wouldnt put that past Freddy Roach. But if it goes through i wouldnt blame or take away from PAC because its up to Cotto to set some standards.

Specially as you see quite a bit of Pac fans wanting Cotto to rematch Manny so Manny can win his 8th title.

The way I see it... If Cotto wants to fight Pacquiao again, he should be willing to put his title on the line at a catchweight. If he isn't willing to put his title on the line at a catchweight, then he should fight someone his own size.
