What next for Paul Williams?

Paul Williams seems to be out in the cold again without a viable opponent. Its looking like he really should have got it on with Pavlik. But thats the past what now?

Fights that are out:

Mayweather/Pac - no chance
Martinez - seems to be hoping for a FMJ fight, so probably not
Cotto - no way Arrum feeds Cotto to Williams

Maybe these would be available:

Dzinderuk - tricky fight but a very interesting 1
Sturm - why not? A MW belt holder
Sylvestor - probably the easiest MW belt
Spinks - good fight, SPinks is probably past it now and has a belt
Berto - if Williams can make 147 would be a good winnable belt
Cintron rematch - the first wasn't conclusive but Cintron isn't much of an opponent really
Margarito rematch - this would be a good fight

What do you think, I hope he sorts a fight out soon

 

I still want a Martinez rematch at either 154 or 160 with Martinez's titles on the line. I can't see it happening though. Dzinziruk would be very interesting as would Cotto.

 

Cotto vs. PWilly, that would be crazy :nut

 

I really would like to see how that Cintron fight would finish out.

I would like to see him against Martinez ,Cotto or Pavlik.

But i think the most likely scenario is a Cintron rematch.

 

Williams called out two LMW's. Calzaghe and Bhop. He will never fight Pavlik though. :deal

 

I think he wanted the 50-50 split, but that ship has sailed now Pav isn't champ anymore

 

I want him to fight Sturm or Dzin while he waits for Martinez. Cotto won't do it I don't think, and he needs more elite fighters on his resume than not...

 

Paul needs to get his skinny little ass back down to 147. He takes too many punches so the lower the better.

 

Especially as Pav's probably going to light heavyweight.

So now 50/50 is a reasonable request. It wasn't before.

 

he's looked like a bum in his last 2 fights.... he needs to get his confidence back

 

Let's see now -- my favorite fighter has 2 losses -- both came against opponents he only fought because PWilly priced himself out. So, if it were completely up to me, Paul's next fight would be Pavlik at 175. **** what's fair. Willy needs an ass whoopin':yep
