Prime Calzage would of been murdered by James Toney, I remember when he was a super middle weight beating the hell out of any body that stood in his way, he was fighting 4 fight times a year sometimes. James had a good chin, good skills and power.

What makes him greater than Calzage is that he never left any questions unanswered, while Calzaghe waited for Bhop and Roy to get old, Toney took a Roy Jones fight with just 6 weeks to prepare, he went into camp weighing in the low 190's. He wasn't even supposed to fight at that weight any longer cause he couldn't make anymore, but he took it and fought. Don't get ne wring I think hr would of lost to a prime jones anyway, cause Jones was strong and fast as hell, but it wouldn't of been so lumpsided. James was being called the Pound for Pound best during those times, anybody else would of got, and Calzaghe would of been knocked out.

This guy is only 5"9 and is still demanding fights with the Klits, in a day where most fighters are *****'s this guy is looking calling out everybody even MMA fighters. Calzaghe has blown his chance to answer all the questions history will soon throw at him years to come, but Mayweather still has a chance to answer history's questions. When it's all said and done I hope he makes it in the Hall of Fame before a lot of these *****'s

by the way i think he was 44-0 before his first loss. And has titles in 6 weight classes from middle all the weigh up, No catch weight bull****.

Toney is a favorite of mine, but I think Joe would've matched up fairly well against him.

Im a huge Toney fan and have almost all his fights but i wouldn't say that Toney winning would be a certianty. He was a very flat footed fighter. Calzaghe's hand and footspeed would definitely present difficulties for James.

His left hook to the head and body are both underrated. How did Nunn stand up after this?

Before his first loss he was 44-0-2 and he's had actual real world titles in three weight classes, from middle to cruiser. No need to blow it up when you've accomplished that much. Where are you getting six weight classes?

Toney would have destroyed him. Of course I could rip off the names of 29 other fighters who would have beaten slappy joe with a high degree of "certainty" as well.

Since Toney couldn't murder Dave Tiberi or Montel Griffin (twice) not sure what he'd do with Calzaghe.

Hard to tell what would happen with this fight. Toney's a master counterpuncher and Calzaghe leaves himself open to it, but Toney himself didn't like dealing with speed, angles, and volume punching.

Very interesting fight IMO. I'd favor Calzaghe, but there's an excellent case for Toney taking it as well.

    That's an excellent tribute video.

Is Toney even ranked H2H on the ATG list as a MW or SMW?

I'd take the JT that weighed in at cruiserweight and went to war with Jirov to beat Sam Peter with no hesitation.
