Bute will have to face off with the winner of the Super 6 to prove he's the best, and the winner of the super 6 will have to face off with Bute to prove he's the best.

    Until then, its just speculation.

I don't think this is accurate at all.

Whoever wins the Super Six will rightfully be called the BEST super middle in the world, plain and simple.

he'll be called the best but in order to PROVE IT, he'll have to fight Bute.

There's a huge difference between being called the best and proving it by beating all the other top dogs.

Come on. The winner of the Super Six is going to absolutely positively have a greater claim than Bute.

Based on what? Avenging what should have been a loss against Andrade? Beating Miranda after he was already long perceived as damaged goods?

Bute is so overrated on this board it's not even funny.

Having a greater claim than Bute does not mean you don't need to fight him in order to prove you're the best.

Bute should fight the winner of the super 6. I don't see him being matched up w/ anyone that could beat him before the tournament is over specifically for this reason. Hbo will make sure of that, unless there's demand for him to fight the winner of dawson/pascal.

Bute has 3 wins over current top 10 SMWs and is himself considered one of the top dogs at SMW.

Whether you consider him overrated or not, you can't just cast him aside.

If he's so overrated, Ward will simply beat him and prove he's the best. Or Bute will lose somewhere along the way before that happens

Also, its pretty clear that what everyone thinks should have been a loss on Bute's resume was in fact a win. The guy beat the 10 count. The real count, not the one that lasted longer.

anyone who actually cares about this can just youtube the video.

So by this logic, did Calzaghe "duck" Bute to fight Hopkins?

Or did Calzaghe already prove he was the best at that time?

In order to beat Bute, Kelly would have to box as well as he did in the second half of the 2nd Taylor fight, and display the same kill or be killed attitude he displayed pre-Hopkins. Will we ever see that from him again? I hope so, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Like I already said, and like any REASONABLE observer would agree:

Bute needs the Super Six Champion more than the Super Six Champion needs Bute.

If the Super Six Champion has a lucrative opportunity waiting for him at 175 pounds after winning the tournament, Bute is **** out of luck.

Winning a tournament of this magnitude most certainly commands and deserves a lot of respect. While Bute is facing off against sub-par competition, those in the Super Six are consistently squaring off against top notch opposition.

I am sick and tired of the complete lack of perspective on these boards when it comes to Bute.

He wanted no part of the Super Six and he is unworthy of consideration as the top dog because of it.

LOL how do you come to these conclusions.

Bute wanted no part of the super 6? Maybe it was because he wanted to avenge a controversial loss to Andrade? Maybe it was because he signed a lucrative contract with HBO? Maybe it was the super 6 who wasn't interested in Bute?

Why don't you just buckshot him while you're at it
