Do you think Sergio Mora can still be a force at world title level?

I became a fan of Mora watching The Contender six years ago, and had really high hopes for him after the competition ended. I was both pleased and impressed when he managed to beat the world-class Vernon Forrest, but since the Viper outclassed him in a rematch his career has stalled.

Mora won his comeback fight by TKO, and has another fight lined up soon.

Do you think he could become a player in the light-middleweight division again, and maybe lift a title? Or is he just a reality TV winner who won't achieve anything more in the real world?

Needs to sit down on his punches a lot more , hes quite skilled but not skilled enough i'd say . atm though he could win a middleweight title considering how weak the division is

    i like mora
good style ,quick, fast good to watch
can give people fits with his awkward herky jerky style
and knows how to steal rounds quite a smart fighter.

unfortunatley we dont really know if he could be world class due to
    his inactivity.
hopefully goldenboy will match him up soon

    possibly ....

They can't help him if he turns down fights with the likes of Jermain Taylor & Kelly Pavlik. He has nobody to blame but himself. There are other fighters from that Contender Series 1 who would have jumped at the chance, yet he thinks winning a reality TV show makes him the draw.

Mora against Cotto is a realistic fight, sergio would stand a chance maybe.

Mora will never fight at 154 again. The fights with Forest are his only 2 fights in that division. He is, was, and will always be a middleweight. Considering that Martinez won't be at 160 there will be 4 titles out there with 4 titlists. Most of the division is either really green, or just not all that great, so I would not be surprised to see Mora pick up a title. He could probably beat Sylvester right now.

I'd give him a chance at cotto at 154

if paulie can go 12 with miguel

sergio is alot taller , quick combo's and reactions , decent chin

could pull of a UD ???

I think he's a little feather-fisted for Cotto. I'm not entirely sure if he could beat Foreman.

He couldnt, Foreman beats him at his own game. Foreman is faster. Coming from a mora supporter too, i was rooting for him against Forest.

Could see the fight happening though, hes a name Cotto can fight at 154 without being too much of a risk.

I was 100% sure Cotto beats Foreman, simply cos Foreman was was class below, with no power to hurt Cotto, the 3 guys who gave Cotto the most trouble all had 1 thing in common, power. Cotto's boxing skills is very underrated, I said he would outbox the "outboxer" in Foreman, and he did, easy, Cotto has 1 of the best jabs in the game.

As he cannot hurt Cotto, he cant do anything to deter him, Cotto pummels him on the inside and outboxes him with the jab from the outside.

This Mora is the same Mora who went life and death with Manfredo, *twice, same Manfredo who lost to Gomez, same Gomez who....I rate Mora slightly above Gomez but not by much.

    Differerent Leagues.

If he can get bigger fights at light middle he might go back down.

Mora got lucky once against an unmotivated Forrest and won a close UD.........Viper got motivated and blew him away.

Mora just is not in the same class as fighters like Cotto, hell a shot Taylor could come back right now and embarrass him.
