The first fight footage is of his third bout with Sammy Angott in 1946, the second and third are against Tony Riccio and I forget the other. All prime Welterweight Robinson footage. Quite a treat, especially for those who seem to be under the impression that no footage of him in his Welterweight prime exists.

Boy this is Great! The 1st tape is the continuation of the 2nd. That is Charlie Fusari who Ray is boxing. Also at the weigh-in, the guy in charge was the NJ Boxing Commissioner, Abe J. Greene and the referee was Paul Cavaliere. I met Charlie several times and I talked to him just before he passed on. I also was very good friends with Cavaliere, and like Tippy Larkin, I would take him to all the boxing events. On his 85th brithday, I presented him with a World Championship belt. I gave his Eulogy when he passed on as well. Greene I knew later on in his life. I use to visit him every month at his home in Paterson. He was the czar of boxing throughout the World for many years and was voted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame last year. Both were wonderful men. I never actually saw any films of him talking at that age. I already posted a story about Tony Riccio before, but here it is again. I have the Boxing Gloves for Robinson's bout against Riccio. Tony passed away in September of 2008. Several weeks before he passed away I talked to him on the phone. He said he would Love to see his son again, as they haven't talked in decades. I happened to have his son's number and I gave him a call. A couple of weeks later, Tony's lady friend told me that she was sitting with Tony in the hospital when a stranger walked in. Tony was in bad shape and for a second or so, Tony didn't even know that it was his son. They both started crying and spent hours together catching up on old times. She said that she couldn't remember when Tony was as happy as that day. A few days later, Tony passed away and I received a call from Tony's lady friend, saying how grateful they were for making a dying mans wish come true.
hh After the fight between Ray Robinson and Charley Fusari in 1950, where the crowd were booing the fighters, a famous writer was quoted as saying 'Ray Robinson is the greatest CARRIER, since Mother Dionne ".{Mother Dionne was the mother of the five quintuplets babies in Canada ]...Robby never went all out... I saw young Charley Fusari flatten a young sensation Vince Foster in one round in MSG Fusari was a good tall boxer/ puncher. but not in Robbyy's class...b.b.
It makes you wonder how much more is it out there when someone finds almost unwatched/un-named videos like this. A brilliant story too, you really do know everyone hh!
