Rau' Shee Warren wins another Amatuer Title...Still hasn't turned Pro Yet.

yo darryl i was i finkin the same thing when i saw usa vs PR team last year olympics is an oppurtunity but u gta fink about the financial gains aswel, right nw anybody wudb willing to sign him up

 

Nah I think he should stay amateur, if he can come back from the first two olympic letdowns to win a gold on his third go that would be a hell of a story. I like him and his style but he seems abit lazy with it sometimes.

 

The guy has some fast hands...his movement reminds me of Mayweather, a southpaw Mayweather.

 

The guy should have turned pro already he's doing nothing but wasting his talent and time now in the amatuers.

 

Nah man he's chasing a dream... good for him. If he turned pro he'd be fighting cans for a couple of years anyway. If he can get the gold he can turn pro with alot of fanfare, a hell of a backstory and step up quickly (you'd hope).

 

No need to turn pro. The amount of money he is making in the amateurs is enough reason to get that gold. When he goes pro he can easily be fast tracked like gamboa.

 

I saw that fight. His corner ****ed him over. Nothing wrong with staying amateur he will be making **** loads and dominating. Only 4 rounds and a lot easier and hes accustomed to it. I dont mean Gamboa got rushed because of his age. Have you seen the records of who has foight and lara, rigondeaux? Alot better than the 'prospects' you see on friday night fights because they are already at an unreal standard. He has sparrred world champs before and will be getting hard sparring as it is.

 

It's an investment for his future that I think's going to pay off.

I get where Darryl's coming from though because Warren's got great pro potential, so it's natural to want to see him there now. Same with that Lomachenko kid from Ukraine. I certainly don't want to see them suffer professionally from sticking around too long in the amateur game, but they should be getting out young enough that there's nothing stopping them from professional success, especially if they don't wast time fighting too many terrible fighters once they turn pro. If they were going to be matched up with bums the first 2 years, their competition level would be significantly higher going the Olympic route anyways.

 

I agree he outta turn pro now. A Cincy product so you know Ima fan! Best fighters come from the Midwest.

it's really not worth it though because he'll be 26 before he turns pro when he could already bank a million before then. He doesn't need a gold to be a major player in the pros he's already got the skills

 

he should turn pro already. start making that money. most fans don't even remember your amateur career, they remember your pro career.
