If it did, Berto wouldnt beat hatton, and personally imo, if someone sat hatton could hang with berto they shouldn't ever be allowed to talk about boxing again. I would love to see this fight. I think Cotto knocks Berto out at some point. There is just too many things I can't trust with Berto in a big match like this. I can't trust his: defense, chin, or his stamina. Really the only advantage I have for Berto is handspeed(obviously) but I don't see it being enough. I actually think you would see a return of Cotto's body attack in this fight as Berto doesn't possess the movement(like Pac or Foreman) or the defense (Clottey) to prevent it from happening. If Cotto doesn't launch a body assault, then it would signal to me that he really just doesn't want to go to the body as much anymore. With Cotto launching a body assault and working behind that nice jab(sometimes doubled up) I think he'll be ahead on the cards and take out and exhausted Berto around round 9.
