Distinctly average european boxer who is screaming out for a payday that would be totally undeserved. He is a crap one-dimensional boxer with a crap defence, he leaves his chin open and he lacks power.

Who the hell does he think he is calling anyone out when he struggles against relative unknowns.

    Thoughts and thanks in advance...

Don't base a fighter on one fight mate, If i based Khan on his prescott fight he loses to everyone.

7 fights and he has a crap defence? I doubt it since the Lynes fight McCloskeys defence has slowly got worse. This should wake him up. Usually he is a very hard to find,

Ortiz and maidana can call for one as they are close, McCloskey is totally out of order to call for a shot when he struggles against low ranking unknowns.

There's no harm in trying is there, would be better then the the FFN LW treadmill Lauri/Lynes etc etc. I'm sure I've seen him fight Lauri before

Its not that his defence is abysmal, its just that he neglects to protect at all times and takes too many shots, i know he has a beard but that is an attribute not a defence. With bradley, alexander, khan, maidana, ortiz as teh top guys in the division, they would only be too happy to crack that chin...

I'm not defending his performance but he's a boxer...he aiming high...even though he's woefully short of Khan's level after that performance. Calling guys out is name of the game and it's not as if he's been smack talking he just called his name because he felt he was that level...probably still does...he wants a big payday...a big night...that one night boxers all dream about...Main Event...Sold Out Staduim...PPV. I don't think there's any harm in it myself :good

Khan's not exactly mr rock solid chinwise.. if Paul got into a similar scrap like tonight with Khan.. he could stop Khan imo..

I totally agree with that point and appreciate that he has some ambition. My beef is that there seems to be so many average boxers calling out top level boxers who provide paydays. McCloskey sprand to mind has he is a c level fighter calling out an a level. He fights low ranking nobodies and struggles to look good doing so. He has no right to call for a payday imo.

Hang on we are talking about Amir Khan he has avoided a number of fighters down the line. He didnt go near British or European level he has avoided all the big bangers to be honest Khan is a accident waiting to happend and it will happend sooner rather than later. I would love to see a McCloskey and Khan fight. McCloskey can box when he wants and has some power. Khan has been put down by bums during his time so this could well be a makeable fight no matter what McCloskey or Sky say.

    :patsch

Dont be silly, Khan would pepper shots in like a piston. A vicious couple of flurries to force a ref stoppage. BTW i ain't even a khan fan...

I'm not saying he is world level but that was a terrible performance by his standard. You never know i remember a few years back watch McCloskey on RTE and he was like a ghost hardly ever hit. He seems to be going through the monitions at the minute rather than boxing to the best of his abilities. He needs to get back in form because he will get eaten up at world level with that defence shown tonight.

I can see where your coming from mate. I agree with ya....it pisses me when you get guys who ain't that great on Sky talking big and they can't even take care of business properly...but and it's a big BUT...if your a fighter with half a dig....and you see Amir Khan as a champion...even if you know you would get your arse whopped 9 times out of 10....with his dodgy biscuit tin you hope that you get him on that one night where you can take him out and carve out your own legacy.
