According to an interview in El Nuevo Dia, Miguel Cotto said that he would be willing to fight Margo if his status was fixed and the money was right. He also said that he knows who the big names are and that he is willing to fight all of them to include Margo, Berto, Martinez and Paul Williams. Cotto also added that Steward will be staying in his corner and that after this camp he feels renewed and has recovered the passion he once had. Cotto is hungry and ready for the big names.

And I do not know why this guy is hated so much in boxing... Most likely his next fight will be against Margarito and hopefully it takes place in NY. And tell Bob Arum to make it at 147 not at any other weight. Let's get it on.

Lots of interesting match-ups available for Cotto. I love how he ducks no one and never makes unrealistic demands. Cotto is great for boxing.

I don't know why people think Cotto is hated in boxing. The only people i can think of who are always disrespecting Cotto are the Mayweather nuthuggers. Everyone else loves Cotto.

You are right I didn't mention that because it seemed more like a gossip from the interviewer than a realistic option.

Excellent news. Cotto-Margarito and Pac-Mayweather in the same calendar year would be an absolute treat for boxing fans.

    Make it happen Arum. :deal

I saw that article earlier this morning and thought this is a done deal...
everyone wants this fight to happen....the only part pending was Cotto's
    willingness.
I can see Arum resolving his status....and making the $ right.

Just hope it happens in NY.

With Steward's guidance Margarita is done !!!!

You mean Cotto-Margarito II of course lol. I hope Cotto wins but I doubt Margarito will be as tough mentally & physically as the first fight so I see a Cotto victory. WAR COTTO!!

There are always a few. Every single fighter out there has their share of haters. Cotto has less than almost all of them.

He seems to be one of the mostly widely respected and highly regarded fighters out there.

An epic success for the sport.

Agreed. People tend to scrutinize Cotto's mental make up nowadays and I tend to think Margarito probably deserves equal questioning.

It would be great to see this happen and if Cotto wins, it's a very valuable win for him. Neither of these guys are exactly what they were when they first fought maybe, but that shouldn't keep it from being another exciting war. The potential redemption that Cotto can get from this fight is the main reason i wanna see it, but if it doesn't happen it's really not a biggie that much. He can fight Berto, Cintron, plenty of guys.

Yes:good. His endurance has to come to question too. No doubt he wouldn't be as tough as he was the first time against Cotto. A chance of redemption for Marg & a chance of revenge for Cotto. Pretty good story.
