People clamoring for Lemieux to step up his level of competition or gun for a title this year need to slow the hell down.

He's being brought along just right.

He looked good and like Teddy said, I want to see more of him. I would have enjoy more this fight if it wasn't because Ayala's poor boxing skills left me in shock!! I have seen amateurs with better boxing skills.

If it were up to me, David's schedule would look something like this, and all these fights would have to be in a 18-20 foot ring:

Lujaun Simon (Beat Ayala and is generally all around better)

Bronco McKart (Smart southpaw who still has a bit left in the tank, but his punch resistance is not what it used to be)

David Lopez (he's better than McKart or Simon at this point, but I think his chin would let him down.)

Look for a title eliminator after this.

My choice...Would be a good test...Lost an UD to Abraham in a good fight and beat Ayala by decision...

Both of AA's former opponents got brutalized...........Is AA the MONSTER puncher he is made out to be?? Vera had just been brutalized by a 154 lber not too long ago.........I have always questioned how legit it is, JT was brain dead walking into the ring with AA and it was 12 rounds.........hmmmmm

But it looked as though Ayala went in there to trade and left himself open early.........like Williamson did with Mesi and Mesi's power got overrated because DW came in and fought stupid. I need to see more. Sometimes we get so excited about big and early KOes we jump in too fast as fans. Vic and Naseem come to mind.

Yes, Abe is a monster puncher he just has a very lazy style and low workrate, which is why it sometimes takes him much longer than it should to get rid of someone.

Lemieux is much busier and starts faster than Abraham, which makes him more crowd-pleasing...but he isn't necessarily more powerful.

Big mistake by Ayala , he was probably thinking that Lemieux's power wasn't legit and he try to put some pressure on him but he learn really fast that it's not a bright idea to trade with David without and let him install himself!:bbb
