I remember that post and I have been following them since they were amateur. However, did you ever consider the possibility that not everybody had the chance to see your post??????? I didn't know this was some kind of competition. I am giving people the chance to hear about this guy in case they haven't had the chance.
he and his brother have the dumbest ****ing names.saw them one the vasquez & martinez card one of them is composed calm the other a bit wilder
Very fun to watch this guy, he brings a lot to the game, really looking foward to see him fight some pretty good competiton on the future
He lost tonight...In a stunning upset, unheralded flyweight Tajashi Okada (2-0-1, 1 KO) scored a unanimous four-round decision over previously unbeaten former world amateur champion and 2008 Olympian McWilliams Arroyo (3-1, 3 KOs). Okada dropped Arroyo in round two and went on to win 39-36, 38-37, 38-37.
That's a tough loss, but it's not devestating by any means. It's better for Arroyo to suffer defeat early rather than suffer defeat 15-20 fights into his career(ie, once he becomes a known commodity and has recieved a certain degree of media coverage), especially in today's climate of "1 loss and you're done." If anything, the loss will allow him and his team to go over flaws in his game at an earlier juncture so as to better prepare him for a potential trip to contention.
I lieu of what happened to Arroyo we can consider this thread a FAIL except for the fact that we were also introduced to Okada. Looking forward to more of his fights.
