Omar Chavez is like 22-0-1. His draw was against a guy who was 0-10 at the time. His last win in may, was a one point SplitDecision over 15-10-1 Rodrigo Jarez. To say theres alot of work to do with him to make him competitive with say, C- level of an opponent is an understatement. Im sure they'll keep feeding Omar guys with records 0-10/1-28 and he'll keep struggling to keep the 0 until someone with a record of 18-9 KO's Omar when his record is at 35-0-1, and the 18-9 guy gets a title shot because of it.
He is(or was) considered the more talented of the two but he has not looked that good IMO in his last couple of fights.
There might be something to that. Omar has not showed the same intensity since then, he almost looks gun-shy. He seems to be in the same situation Gabriel Ruelas was after the death of Jimmy Garcia and/or Chavez-Johnson.
I think you dont really know Omar, he is VERY LIMITED i would say he is terrible, comparing him with his brother (JC jr) make you think JC Jr is Sugar Ray Robinson next to him, I have seen all of his fights, actually both of them, Julio and Omar and Omar is just AWFUL, terrible fighter..
I've seen most of his televised fights too and I never implied he was a great boxer. You are reading too much into my post:deal JR has always overshadowed his brother but there was a time, a while back, where a lot of people, some of the press included, started to turn on Jr to the extent that some claimed Omar was the better fighter. Look it up, it's all documented!
The amount of pure suckage that Omar exudes when he fights makes JCC Jr. look like a prime Fernando Vargas.
