David Lemieux - I'M ON BOARD.

Lemieux's defensive skills aren't that bad. Lemieux blocked like 90% of Ayala's punches with his guard and also dodged some with decent head and foot movement.

 

Kid is sick but dont forget he dosen't have an AM career. We are talking of a guy who's 21. He needs another year to build up experience, get used to guys who hit back.

 

Yeah, I agree he needs to have at least a couple of fights where he gets some rounds in to develop more. I know nobody looks good against Ishe Smith, but it might be time for Lemieux to take on a fighter like that for the experience.

 

I didn't even realize that guy was a trainer. I thought he was just an analyst on TSN.

I agree with most of that Addie, but we still have to see how he deals with a really good mover. Even with plenty of gas in the tank and a solid beard, he could still turn out to be the type that looks beastly when a target is placed in front of him, but can't track down a great mover.

 

Lemieux had a good amateur career. He won plenty of tournaments, provincials and national championships.

 

I already seen him got hit flush on the chin and didn't even stop getting forward. I think if he had a bad chin he will be a little cautious to getting in and it doesn't lool like it , but he still need to prove it against a hard puncher.

For the stamina i think he got a really good one. When he fought Naugler (the only fight he went the distance ) he was still throwing power shot at the end with a really good rythm plus his training with Pedro Diaz who his a master in physical conditionning!

Lemiux looked good running Ayala over but its still too early to tell just where he stands. There is a lot to like and I'd like to see him face someone who can force him into plan b or c. He's not readly for any type of contenders yet but he's only a few fights away. A fight with Vera would make sens. Both just fought on the same card so it would be a fit to have them face each other. Vera is a bigger guy and will make Lemiux work for his win, atleast he'll give him some rounds in an entertaining fight. It has ESPN written all over it.

 

The winner of Chavez-Duddy sounds better and better the more I think about it.

Chavez will be a less willing target but still isn't going to outbox Lemieux - not even on his best night and with Lemieux suffering from food poisoning.

Duddy will provide as willing a target as you'll find and allow Lemieux to sharpen his offensive skills for as long as Duddy's chin holds up. What a god damn war, it gets my adrenaline up just thinking about it.

Hell, he can take both the loser and the winner! Why not? They're exactly the level he should be advancing to in order to properly develop - no more, no less.

 

I want to see David against a smart fighter in an 18-20 foot ring. No top contender or world titlist is going to agree to a 15 foot ring. Pavlik and/or Abraham probably would have said, "**** that -- let's make 12 foot!" But, they're not at 160 anymore. David needs experience fighting a smart guy in a big ring.
