#3, 4, 5 and 6 heavyweights

    We all agree the brothers are 1 and 2, in whatever order.

    But who are the next best three to complete the top five?

    I think most agree its outta this pool..........Chagaev...........Haye..........Povetkin................

    Taking into account their wins, and losses (Pov is still undefeated) I would say Haye is number three, with Chagaev and Povetkin very close for 4 and 5.

    Vitali/Wlad.....1-2

    3..........Haye.........3...... Beat Valuev and Ruiz, only, but has never been beaten at heavy
    4.......Chagaev......................Chag has also beaten Valuev and Ruiz, but has been taken apart by Wlad, so he's a notch below Chagaev, given the unfair circumstance......LOL

    5.................Povetkin.................. (Valuev?).........undefeated, but Povetkin has only beaten Chambers. I think it would be reasonable to put Valuev at 5, and Povetkin below him at 6. Could be argued either way.

    The only thing I have to strongly disagree with is Valuev. He is absolute **** mate. Lost all credibility after the Holyfield debacle. He was the definition of a paper champion in every way. I would pick 15 guys to beat him now.

    Arugements could be made for several fighters. I could see any of these fighters beating or losing to one another.

    The HW division, as weak as it is, is actually kind of exciting when you think of the top ten and all the matches that could be made. Nobody really knows who would beat whom. Unfortunately, almost none of these matches are ever made.

    I don't see how Adamek can compare to Chagaev's resume, with Chag having only the loss to Wlad, and wins over Valuev, and Ruiz, not to mention many lesser opponents, like Virchis. Chag has been beaten once, period.

    Adamek is a good prospect, and has a decent win at heavy, but merely beating the overrated and never-was Arreola don't mean much when that's all you've done.


    Unless, and this is a possiblity, you take into account his resume at the lower weight class. Which many seem to do. And I guess you can argue that the lower weight accomplishments should factor in. If that's the case, Haye may well be seen as the number one heavy in the world, then.

    Chaguev's problem is that we don't know what is left in the tank with him, he looked meh against Meehan when someone like Haye or Adamek would have blown the doors off Meehan.

    All well and good, but Adamek has penetrated top 5 in a very short time. Compare this to Haye's activity level and the fashion in which he barely mananged to squeek out an ugly victory to earn that belt against a guy you can easily argue is much worst than Arreola in terms of power and skill. Because of this, I think Adamek looks hotter and the only one big victory can be justified considering the short amount of time he's at HW. But perhaps, you're right that Adamek should prove more to be considered ahead of Chag or Pov.
    In any event, he appears to have more potential than most of these fighters mentioned ,which is part of the reason many people are ranking him high.

    Haye v Povetkin would be a great fight IMO. Not that any top 10 HW's actually face each other these days, unless it's for a belt. This is the trouble, that HWs get tittle shots based on their performances against second tier opposition.
