Yeah, the problem I think most have with Salido as an opponent is that he has ten losses and he isn't Callebero or Lopez. Salido has 10 losses but its not a true indicator of him. Those losses were early in his career and over the last few years he has some good wins. He's a good opponent, I think Gamboa beats him but it should be a nice fight just not as nice as Callebero or Lopez would have been.

More than the chin. Rios will check his heart and will to fight. Peterson will try to stick and move and Rios will take his legs and heart away with body shots.

Rios has fought the better competition and has stopped his last 7 opponents. Brandon gets better and more confident with each fight.

Salido is nothin huh:think Well he kod Mtagawa in 5, where as your boy went life and death with him and was lucky to survive.

I like Gamboa a lot but im not sure if this is a risky fight for him, I havent Seen Salido fight in a few years but use to follow him a lot when he fought on the West Coast or local Tv. I was always impresed with him he has solid skillsm a big punch(he used to knockout LWs on regular basis back then) and a very good chin, dont let the KO losses fool you, every one of those ko losses where in his first 10 fighs, hasnt been kod or even put down since. Obviously Gamboa has the super skill set of the too here and is more talented, however dont count out Salido with his power, if Gamboa gets careless like in his other fights, it could posibly be lights out, also dont forget Salido also has some better than average skills to go along with that punch of his. Acually Salido is more dangerous than anyone JuanaMa has faced.

He KO'd him in 2 anarci, :p, puertoriccane is in denial a little bit about the lack of talent Juanma has compared to Gamboa. He goes to strength of schedule, but let it be known for the 1000th time, Gamboa HAS NOT EVEN HAD 20 PRO FIGHTS YET!!! Salido is a very solid step up for him, and yes, I agree, Salido is more dangerous than a shot Penalosa, a Ponce de Leon with no defense, or a Luevano who was clearly the weakest champ in the division (Juanma was belt hunting)

That was Gamboa who kod him 2, i was talking about Salido who kod Mtgawa in 5.

As for Lopez competition the best guy he beat was Luevano, lets not forget that if Luevano had some good moments in that fight and if he could punch a little, the fight could have possibly turned out dirferent. Agreed with you Penalosa was shot and PonceDeleon although a big puncher is flawed and Lopez just caught him first.

Ohhhhhh, that makes sense, so Salido will be a good test. As much as people will cut down Gamboa for not taking on John, Caballero, or even Rojas, it is a good step up. I always liked this matchup though, I think Gamboa will take it with a mid to early round TKO. I'm gonna say 5th round.

Yey but if he comes out blazing and not respecting Salido he is gonna get himself in a wreck, id go as far as to say id lay a few bucks on Salido seeing how im sure Gamboa is a huge favorite. Salido has a tough chin dont let those early ko losses fool you. I think Salido would beat Rojas and hes more dangerous than Caballero, dont get me wrong id rank Caballero higher on a pfp list but what i mean by dangerous is that Gamboa and his people might be sleeping on Salido. I remember Marquez winning a wide decision over Salido but Gamboa and Marquez are opposites when it comes to style. Marquez was even more of a counterpucher, boxer type when he was at feather, Gamboas kamikazee style could get him in trouble here.

I agree with the fact that Gamboa could get himself into some trouble if he gets reckless. However, he looked more like Marquez in his last fight. Not saying he all of the sudden became a counter puncher, but he looked much more patient and more willing to use his superior speed for some defense as well. If he keeps that up, Salido will get frustrated and try to land some bigger punches, leaving himself open for a big shot from Yuri. I watched the Marquez fight and I noticed sometimes Salido dips in like he is going to fire, but he doesn't and instead leaves himself W I D E open for a shot. I trust that Ismael Salas and the rest of Gamboa's team will work with him trying to exploit this as well as the differences in natural ability. It might be a big prediction, but I really can't see this fight going more than 8 rounds, more like 7. Salido will be worn down and frustrated and I think Gamboa will capitalize.

While I think Salido is a good fighter, albeit a top five featherweight I just think Gamboa is going to do whatever he wants and ko him. His style will give Salido so many problems. I'm sure people will be on here talking bad about Salido, but at least Gamboa is doing better progress than all the other featherweights. He isn't fighting Caballero or Juanma, but it's a really good replacement and boxing fans should be happy regardless.

Isn't Arum waiting for a cleanout of the division before matching Gamboa and Lopez? I don't think anyone is ducking anyone here. Salido is a good step for Gamboa as he advances.

smart move. he'll be unified champ once he beats salido who's the easiest to unify with. Gmaboa wins easy. Hoefully next he has more clout for a Lopez or Caballero fight. Gamboas the man
