How would you know which one was worse if you didn't see the Danzig stoppage?

Oh and the Danzig stoppage was worse by the way.

I thought it was really bad refereeing, he was in a defensive position and you could see half his neck was free so he couldn't be out. He couldn't move his arms as he was using them to stop Mac advancing into a better position where he might've been able to get a better grip for the choke. The ref should've taken another couple of seconds. Danzig was very good in the situation, hopefully they fight again so we can see the fight we wanted to.

As for the other stoppage, there was nothing wrong with it. it doesn't matter how long is left in the fight if the fighter is in danger of taking serious damage. It looked like he had an eye injury, and there's no point in putting his vision in jeopardy by allowing him to continue. Also neither his corner or he himself complained about the stoppage.

dude seriously? the only people that think that was a bad stoppage have to be Canadian people.

if they let it go that 9 or more seconds the dude macdonald would have been dead.

He could have been seriously injured, he was starting to take big shots and it looked like his eye already had serious damage. Why make it worse? A loss isn't the end of the world, he'll come back stronger. If he wasn't stopped and he was blinded in his eye he'd never be back. I liked the stoppage, good timing.

It was bull****. They gotta rematch since I doubt the decision is changed to a NC. Do what they did with Krystof and Stephan Bonnar.

The Danzig fight shouldn't have been stopped at all. Bad call on that one for sure.

It appeared to me that Lavigne realized right away that he screwed up. It was like he wanted to let them continue fighting, but obviously he couldn't as it would have been totally unfair to Wiman. It's not like he could have them resume in that same position.

Props to both fighters for their classy post fight comments though. Especially Danzig who even stuck up for Lavigne when he could have trashed him.

Personally, I'm not sure if it was a bad call. I don't think it was. The guys neck was exposed etc etc BUT he looked to go limp and he didn't respond to the ref's touch. I think Rogan said his right hand was moving but that looked like a tell that he wasn't on his way out.

He couldn't move his left hand though as it was stopping his knee from passing.

I saw the whole fight on a small tv while I was waiting in a ridiculous line up for beer. For me, the Danzig one isn't as bad because nobody is gunna recognize that as a legit loss, because you are right, the call was that freakin bad. But early/late stoppages are always iffy, so we gotta look at that as a legit tko. It's worse because he was a young undefeated fighter who dominated the first two rounds, and got his ass kicked in the third round. But it just wasn't that bad to be stopped with 7 seconds. He got up instantly. This sport is about giving and taking savage beatings. I mean, you better be ready to take years off your life and get knocked out if your in that game. Like Rich franklin and Chuck Lidell. And as a ref, you have to accept that too.

I can't blame the ref. From where i was watching, i thought he was out so i don't blame the ref for stopping it. I didn't hear the ref ask him if he was OK. Maybe he should have done that just to make sure if he was out before he stop the fight.

But like i said danzig look like he was unconcious. He should have move his arms to make it look like he's ok instead of resting it when he knows he was getting choke.

Can't blame the ref for the stoppage...

It was a bad stoppage because he thought Danzig was 100% done when in fact he was just in a horrible, horrible spot that in all honesty he probably wouldn't have gotten out of. Still, I suspect they're going to have a rematch and both Wiman and Danizg will be happy about it since it's a fight that they both can win.
