oh no, for sure. they often go hand in hand. just the physical abilities, notably his body bunching, combinations and stamina excluding holding seemed on a higher level earlier in his career from what little i've seen

 

This video shows that Floyd was not just going after old fighters to gain fame. He never got the chance to fight Tzyu, chased De la Hoyle and chased Mosley. It was them who choose to fight him late in there career instead of in there prime because they had to much to loose then, and now haters blame Floyd for fighting washed up fighters.

 

It was Hatton who said he wanted to move up and be regarded as P4P king to do that you have to go where the best fighters are and Welterweight was where the "Money" was - nobody can blame Mayweather for that.

 

not for this fight but don't claim you have unfinished business at 140 (which he did) and then run up to 147 to fight sharmba ****ing mitchell. he should have fought the best at 140, otherwise don't talk **** about it

 

hatton was calling him out so obviously he is going to move up in weight.

It takes two people to make a fight and at the time he was calling these guys out they weren't interested in fighting him.

I know Floyd always talked a lot of bull**** but to be honest, before he got to 147lbs, it wasn't a matter of low risk / high reward in his case. At 140lbs, Mayweather was actively looking to fight all the other top guys but they all backed out for various reasons. FMJ started mostly picking and choosing at 147lbs.

Damn, the only guy he didn't end up fighting was Tszyu. He fought every other guy he called out in that video. Yet he still can't get the benefit of the doubt. Unbelievable. When he doesn't mention Paul Williams' name, people assume Floyd is hiding from him. When he tries to gain some credibility by calling out some big names, you guys say **** like, "talk is cheap." I don't want to hear the nit-picky ****. Has Pac fought every guy who has called him out? The answer is a resounding NO. I don't hear Pac answering to Paul since he last called him out so why isn't Manny getting **** for that? Oh it's because he's America's sweetheart. Right.

I'm fully aware Floyd is a pompous. I don't love it any more than the average person. But is it so hard to get over what he says? It's nothing more outrageous than what Ali or Tyson has said in the past. You can't blame a guy who's hungry and wants to make a ton of money. The only reason why a guy like Paul Williams isn't putting a ton of asses in seats is because he isn't flashy with his personality. He gets a lot of respect for that because we all love a humble guy and that's all fine and dandy but he will always be an A class fighter with a C class name. Nothing wrong with going after fame and fortune. If Floyd wants to provide long term financial security for his children and grandchildren, that's commendable. If he wants to polish the Mayweather name with great fame it's admirable, especially if he's risking his life for it.

PS: At one point in the video Floyd gives credit to some of the toughest fighters he's fought. He won't hesitate to tell you who's an A class fighter in his opinion which lets you know he's being real.

 

Floyd called out Tsyzu in an interview during his camp for Gatti, then of course Hatton beat him. Honestly, after seeing how good Floyd looked at 140, how quick and slick he was does anybody REALLY think the result of Mayweather vs. Hatton would have been any different? More significant win for Floyd, perhaps, but no different result.

 

Hatton turned down Mayweather in 2004, 2005, 2006 - took it 2007. Mayweather offered to come to England to fight Hatton in his first 140lb fight as a tune up. Tyszu fought Hatton because Warren offered more money, Mayweather wanted the winner in November 2005 PPV fight, was talking about Cotto, didn't get either fight. Tried to fight Judah instead when he was champ, who he couldn't agree terms with him so took Mitchell as a tune up, while Judah fought/lost his mandatory

Mayweather was calling everyone out 135-140, he was getting ducked, people said he was ducking Gatti, Hatton, Mosley, Delahoya, when he hadn't agreed to the contracts at the time
