You mean "The Worst World Champion" who's actually only European class and the man with 5 ko's to his name? If this is the best Khan has fought at WORLD LEVEL I wouldn't be bragging about it.

No, Khan's level of opposition has been rightly criticised over and over again.
But at this moment in time, he's still faced better oppostion than McCloskey (who also happens to be 7 years older than him).

Answer me this: who has McCloskey faced who is at the very least equal to Malignaggi & Kotelnik?
Neither are world beaters, and yes Malignaggi is the definition of feather fisted, but both are better than anybody McCloskey's faced to date.
I don't know why you're even attempting to contest this truth.

You are missing the point Ollyc, Khan is supposed to be world class yet his opposition is ****. I didn't say McCloskey has beaten better opposition yet than Khan but if all McCloskey has to do to be on his way to p4p greatness is beat guys like Kotelnik, Salita and Malignaggi, bring it on.

Well he won't be on his way 'p4p greatness' by beating the names you've mentioned, (you were being facetious, I get it), but at this moment in time he doesn't have much to do if he wants to equal Khan's level of opposition. Personally i'm hoping both of then will be involved in better fights by the end of the year.

How can you call Khan's world opposition ****?

Kotelnik was the title holder (Who had beaten Maidana)

    Salita was Mandatory

Paulie, ****? You're obviously basing that on Paulie's lack of punch.

Wait till you know who Khan faces next and if it's someone mediocre then it's fine to say that.

So you think if paul had the same chances as khan he would be better than khan.

There's no one on Khan's resume that McCloskey (or lots of other lww's) couldn't beat.

Khan is number 3 in the division so you feel the LWW division is weak. Or that he is just number 3 because he is wba champ.

His level of opposition has been very underwhelming to date. And that's being kind.
Not really much to right home about prior to Kotelnik.

If he was your average 23 yr Brit who had become a world champ at the age of 22, his resume would be more favourably looked upon. But he's had opportunities to bypass levels that most have to negotiate due to his much publicised amateur credentials, and has been steered away from the sternest domestic challenges.

I lay the majority of the blame at Warren's door - he didn't want to risk the possibility of failing to capitilise on Amir's commercial value, so matched him against a series of opponents handicapped by one or more fatal deficiency (usually choosing to pit him against fighters with abysmal ko percentages).

Hopefully Goldenboy provide him with some sterner opposition.

I have no problem with Khan's ranking. He is WBA champ after all, I just think this attitude that he is levels above McCloskey is ridiculous. He cherrypicked his way through the ranks and now he's ****ing superman!

Compared to Calzaghe or Hatton who was defending his WBU World title against complete nobodies , I think Khan is doing very well. Who were them guys facing in their 25 fight? And he's younger. He's being brought up the right way and still hasn't matured into his man years.

If paul beats higher ranking opposition than I am sure he would be considered favourite to "shatter Khans glass jaw".

Khan is ahead of Calzaghe and Hatton that's for sure - but this doesn't mean he hasn't been carefully guided, and shielded from punchers (with one notable exception).

What's more it isn't really a fair comparison - Khan was headlining cards on terrestrial television against journeyman due to the buzz surrounding him after the olympics. Hatton & Calzaghe didn't have the same opportunities early in their careers.
