how much more would calzaghe have to do to get the respect he deserves?

i'm not trying to 'dominate' anyone with these posts, but i won't suffer fools like cobbler who don't put themselves on the line because he doesn't believe what he was tryting to sell earlier. if anyone thinks calzaghe was hard done by i'll debate you fair all the way

Let me play devils advocate and give some points for you all to debate

    1) Actual Skills
    2) Resume
    3) Personality
    4) Realistic Available Fights
    5) Fights he chose to avoid
    6) Fights where others chose to avoid him

if you want to play devil's advocate then spell it out how you think it applies to this discussion. you KNOW we've already done some of this though.

    but speak your mind.

Again, you have made some good posts on the subject in the past. But so far, in this episode, you've come in full of **** and have made only 1 post worth anything. The rest have been chest thumping and not much else. And that post was very basic which covered ground that you and I both knkw belongs at the neginning of the argument. You want to contribute, then contribute.

Well to show my cards then
    1) I beleive he was immensly skilled
    2) Righty or Wrongly has a weak resume
    3) Wasa victim of his own personality and the way he contradicted himself in interviews often. One day he says he cba with a fighter the next he wants them and the next he doesnt know who they are. Very inconsistent in this area,
4)If he had taken all the realistic fights imo his resume wouldnt be much better , depending how you rate Johnson mainly
    5) Johnson and Jones to a degree
    5) Jones because to high risk/low reward , Hopkins, Ottke

You're joining in a debate that is 22 pages old. If you want to reply to any points that have been made do so. If you want to make some points of you own, do so. Everyone else posting in this thread bar you has already made their points.

as i read through the thread I'm coming back to an earlier post where someone stated that calzaghe's resume could be manipulated to suit the need of someone who likes him or someone who hates him. as with most, it's most likely somewhere in the middle. his resume isn't as bad as some claim, nor as good as others claim. same goes with his skills. IMO: HOF fighter, best at 168, not ATG, fought some good but not enough great fighters, sometimes it was his fault, other times it wasn't.

The level of 'debate' you are managing to deliver is significantly lower than advertised. Can we get our money back? :patsch:lol::lol:
