What do you mean by "puncher"? P4P best one-punch-KO-power? P4P best accumulation puncher?

I think Bailey or Abraham has the best one-punch KO power. Accumulation punching... Pavlik and Pacquiao are my picks.

 

Maybe Abraham is barely above average as a puncher. Only time can tell, really. But for now, let's just assume we're extremely overrating the power. He's more of an accumulation puncher anyway, what with his notorious volume punching and everything. It's not like he does all that much damage with just one or two punches. He's more like a slightly stronger Juan Diaz type. Pavlik would destroy him. At any weight. The guy is all hype so far.

but then again, when you move up to top opponents the ones who aren't elusive generally have sturdier chins.

guys like margarito, gatti and froch wouldn't have reached the heights they did without their chin -hell, that includes oscar too.

Hello dickhead - Since YOU missed it, i'll clarify things for you. I was talking about Shannon Briggs sparking out Ray Mercer which he did in the 7th round of their fight. Lennox Lewis was brought in to the conversation as I suggested that Shannon Briggs was one of the hardest punchers in boxing - someone replied that they agreed, but then suggested that the fact that Lennox Lewis was able to withstand Shannon Briggs' shots would suggest otherwise, I then replied that anyone who knocked out Ray Mercer, AS SHANNON BRIGGS DID, must have some pretty serious power as Ray Mercers chin is legendary - I hope I have explained this in simple enough terms for you to understand... let me know if you need it in words of one syllable.

Raymon Joval retired with a 38% KO ratio. He stopped Shannon Taylor in 10 rounds. Taylor's next fight was against Abraham when AA chose him for a voluntary defense. The fight went the distance.

Lujaun Simon was living off Bronco McKart's left overs when Abraham chose him for a voluntary defense. The fight went the distance.

Elvin Ayala lasted 11 rounds, 2 minutes 32 seconds against Abraham. Ayala lasted less than one round with 21 year old prospect David Lemieux.

Abraham is not even worthy of consideration.

 

Boo has it right. Malignaggi hits harder than Abraham, all those people just happened to fall into unconciousness for completely unrelated reasons at the exact moment he happened to be gently patting their heads.

2. Haye (Above the K. Bros because he is not as tentative and has many more early KO's)
3. Abraham (Brutal one punch KO power right until the end - see Taylor)
4. Wladmir K. (Huge power in both hands but holds back)
5. Pacquaio (Obvious KO power, but his power comes from speed, did not stop Clottey)
6. Kirkland (Huge power, insane agression, but is currently in jail, not too many big fights)
7. Angulo (Similar to Kirkland but not as agressive)
8. Lemieux (Belive the hype, HUGE power, needs better opposition to get higher)
9. Pavlik (Good KO% and some good wins, grinds down rather than 1 punch power)
10. Miranda (Huge power, but lost against high level opposition)
11. A. Green (Best left hook in the sport today, but that seems to be his only REAL power)
12. Vitali K. (Would be higher but does not have one punch KO power, wears you down)
13. Lopez (Good power, but chooses to box sometimes also)
14. Margarito (Although it looks like its diminished a little)
15. D. Green (Power in both hands but not enough to KO a shot Roy Jones)
16. Williams (Good power, grinds you down)
17. Gamboa (Power based off accuracy and speed)
18. Katsidis (Good combinations, non stop agression, 1 more good win puts him at #12)
19. Froch (Very good power right until the end of the fight, grinds you down)
20. Mosley (Very good power, had Floyd rocked 1 year ago would have been top 10)
21. Cloud (18 KO's in 20 Fights says it all)
22. Boytsov (Very good on the inside, brutal body punches)
23. Cotto (Combines power with boxing ability, good left hook, cannot KO the best though)
24. Montiel (Brutal KO over Hasegawa, very good power, 1 more good win he is top 15)
25. Tua (Would be higher but has not really KO'd anyone recently)

Honourable mentions:
Bredis Prescott (Brutal KO over Khan which does not prove much power wise, no good wins besides Khan which if we are honest was a very lucky win for him, good KO% Against nobodies, can be outboxed easily)

Audley Harrison (Yes, Audley Harrison could have been on a NON negative list, huge power in the left hand, brutal KO over sprott, needs at least 2 more good wins to make 25)

Vic Darchinyan (Last 2 wins are UD's could have lost a little power)

Odlanier Solis (Good power but not great considering the amount he throws and lands, but has the abilty to KO anyone on the right night)

Rafael Marquez (Have not seen enough of him to rate his power but has a good KO% against Alright-Good level opposition although most wins are by stoppage rather than KO or even Knockdown)
