I'd say Pavlik. Although the Trindad win was outstanding considering everyone though he would be KO'd, the Pavlik pre-fight senario was the same, but seemed more dangerous for Hopkins because Pavlik was this time the bigger man.

This win to me, killed the notion of Hopkins being a overrated boxer, who's resume only included beating nobodys and blown up welters.

Tito, Tarver, DLH wins all looking better than Pavlik at this point. Maybe Wright too, but I think I'd have Pavlik above that.

And how the hell was Pavlik 'the bigger man' vs Hopkins?

Tito for me, easily. Better fighter in terms of ability, more proven, more highly-rated at the time, and B-Hop's performance was better than it was vs Pavlik.

DLH win better than Pavlik? No chance. Not at all.

Tito. Besides the fight being an upset, Tito was a top 3 P4P at the time.

Definately. I've come to rate this win much higher in time. People yak on about DLH being no good 'up at middleweight' and nobody ever notes that Hopkins weighed in only 2lbs above the LMW limit.

to ananyse this properly you must follow this method.

list hopkins 6 best victories and then list each opponents best victories at the actual weight they fought bernard hopkins at.

you will then get a very good picture of hopkins achievements in boxing and come to the conclusion that his entire career has been smoke and mirrors swallowed by the gullable, brain washed american public.

Id say out of the 2 that Trinidad was a better win, but in truth Trinidads only MW resume consisted of one fight against Joppy, and before his fight with Hopkins a dispute about how his hands were wrapped was raised, where it was indicated his wraps werent correct, making his fists harder, which if the case could this have been happening throughout his career?
Pavlik was fighting at a higher weight to what hed ever had to fight before, at least Trinidad had, had one fight at his new weight.

even though i see tito as the better fighter i'm gonna say pavlik because at the time of his loss to hopkins he was the undefeated current natural middleweight champ. personally i dont think tito had any reason to be fighting at that weight.

This is a close one but Hop was a middleweight champ for 6 years when he fought Trinidad and was younger, so i have to say the Kelly pavlik fight was slightley more impressive.

    So what? :huh

Oscar was beaten at middleweight by the mediocre Felix Sturm (as anyone with a brain would score it), Hopkins had regularly been weighing in well under 160 for years whilst he creamed the best fighters the middleweight had to offer. Hopkins had great size advantages.

Hopkins was a massive favourite to win, and rightly so, and did so in pretty unimpressive fashion. He got the stoppage, but it was not an especially good performance.

Contrast this to the Pavlik fight, where Hopkins was ancient, coming off a loss, a heavy underdog, and produced one of the boxing performances of the decade to take Pavlik's zero in a shut-out.

Honestly don't know what you're thinking about with this call.

A whole 4lbs north of where he beat Jermain Taylor.
A whole 8lbs less than what he weighed on fightnight vs Sergio Martinez.

The fight was at 170, and Pavlik is now starting to fight at 168 because he has accepted he can't make 160 and be sharp.

You have no grounds for your bitching, dry up.
