I have no idea. I don't think it's important if many think Dempsey would win. That's why they fought the fights. It's the equivalence to the Floyd fans talking about how Floyd would've beaten Margarito and Cotto anyway to justify/excuse Floyd's taking the easier route. It's nonsense. And I do dislike how many Dempsey fans just come to this reasoning. I think most will vote with Dempsey. The legend of Toledo shines brightly for Dempsey. But a big strong HW like Willis was a wonderful fighter. Not an oaf like Williard. It's interesting to see how Dempsey would've done to deal with a bit of a bigger, and probably stronger HW like Willis. A skilled one, though. I know Dempsey is the giant killer, but Willis is an another class than Firpo and Williard.
Wills wasn't deemed to have had much of a shot at Dempsey during his day, if it means anything, even if he did deserve the fight.
Bull****, Dempsey NEVER fought anyone in the class of Wills outside of Tunney I wouldn't make a pick because we haven't seen enough Wills to do so
When i saw Wills in Stillmans gym in 1946, he resembled the picture above, excepot for his hair being gray...Once a month Harry Wills would fast from foods, drinking just water...Wills also owned property in Harlem, so he ended up well...
