No doubt in my mind ODLH was robbed in the second Mosley fight & Trinidad fight.(This is coming from a BIG BIG BIG Mosley fan and a VERY BIG Trinidad fan) Mosley is my fav fighter but in no way did he deserve that victory especially with the whole EPO thing. But then again DLH got questionable victories over Forbes, Strum, and Quartey.

I agree with your original post, Popkins, but I do think that Oscar would still have faced Sturm and Hopkins either win or lose vs Mosley 2. Oscar had made it clear very early on that his ambition was to win multiple titles at different weights.

Forbes? How so, he won every single round. Maybe you meant Whitaker?

I don't agree about Quartey at all but agree on Sturm.

if he was rocking those fly red puma trunks he had in the first fight he probably would have gotten the decision.

You can't take the JCC wins seriously, and you could make the argument that beating Shane on PED's is less of a win because he was a bit slower.

You're right that he's faced the better opposition and accomplished more in his career across weight classes, but H2H Mosley beat him the first time prime for prime. While oscar has a better jab and a better ring IQ, Mosley is faster and hits harder.

Peds had nothing to do with his slowness. Maybe extra muscle mass or maybe Oscar's jab in the face.
The Peds definately helped. That surge of whup ass Mosley gained in the final rounds where he actually hurt Oscar makes me believe the PEDS helped rather than hindered.

To the TS, I think this is a very good what if and an interesting read. Some of the things you talk about are perhaps stretching it a bit (specifically the ideas that he would have beaten hopkins or not even gotten knocked) but overall this is a good thought experiement. You should save this some where for future discussions on the whole "rate mosely vs trinidad vs hopkins" debates that spring up every now and again, as you do a good job refocusing poeples prespectives on the issue.

This fight is an example of judges/ fans and media scoring for ineffective aggression. If a guy comes forward winging huge shots then he's more of a professional because he's trying harder.

The theory is **** and anyone scoring for Mosley is being ****in ridiculous. If you score that fight for Shane I'd like to see your scorecards for Tito vs. Oscar, Chavez vs. Whitaker and Hagler vs. Leonard. All of the top billed fighters in those match ups were "Ineffective" aggressors and all of them got their asses boxed off.

Anyway Oscar won the rematch 8-3-1. Put simply it was ****in easy!
