Why cant they build a temporary stadium? Has this even been discussed in the negotiations? If you can get people to pay a couple hundred for the fight isnt that better than ppv for $60?
First question regarding the stadium. They had planned on building a temporary stadium that seated 35K on the strip for this fight if the fight took place May 1st, like Mayweather wanted. The weather is too unstable any other time of year except between really May and September for an outdoor stadium to be realistic. As for the financial aspect of the fight. the live gate is iffy depending on the arrangement, usually the fighters don't get any money from the live gate but instead get up front money from the place hosting the fight, and the venue keeps the live gate. This is what happened at Cowboys stadium. Jerry Jones fronted quite a bit of cash but got to keep the live gate. I was surprised to see Jerry not counting the cash instead of watching the fight.
you could possibly fight 20,000 at the mack with standing room. would love to have it at dallas stadium, but we know floyd wants his hometown judges and his own back yard.
Fight will never happen. Floyd always ducks the toughest fights. Look what Shane did to him you never seen Floyd look so defeated after he was wobbling around the ring. He knows what Manny would do to him and he would never risk his undefeated record. If he does take the money no matter where they fight I think he is going to get hurt and it wont be "pretty" I truly fear for his safety. I am sure he is weighing the options - 30 mill getting hurt like never before and losing the 0 on his record. Manny is too multi dimensional for him.
Roy Jones said he can't wait to see Pac-May in Dallas stadium during cotto-foreman, maybe the man's got an inside scoop!
Thanks for the info. Remember Bowe-Holy II being cold and it did take place in November at the outdoor Caesers Palace, I guess they dont want to deal with something like that again?
