You do realise Forrest has a good case for a win over Mayorga don't you? I think Hearns-Barkley 2 was a close call As for 'winning by 5 points' your card is off, Delahoya probably edged it, Mosley has a case with his bodywork and you're a massive Delahoya fan from what I remember Oscar got more than his fair share of dodgy decisions with Whitaker, Quartey, Sturm
Sky Sports had Oscar 9-3 and they have no reason to be biased and scored the first fight for Mosley, which "was" close. There was a studio discussion with Nigel Benn, Barry McGuigan etc and there was talk of bribery being involved because the decision was so awful. Oscar boxed beautifully but took the drama from the fight. ANYONE scoring for Shane is doing so as punishment for Oscar's tactics. That's the only plausable explanation. Horrible decision! I had Oscar losing to Pernell by 2 and Sturm by 2 so I'm not in the habit of scoring everything his way. He beat Quartey and Trinidad.
I had Mosley winning by one point when i watched it live but the fight was so bad specially compared to their first one that i never saw it again and probably never will.
Actually it was a great boxing exhibition. Some people don't appreciate a boxing chess match when they see one.:verysad
It was **** plain and simple the only reason you think it was a great boxing exhibition is cause it involves De la Hoya, most of the rounds they were just staring at each other without doing much (thats why some of those rounds were hard to score)it was far from a great boxing exhibition. A great boxing exhibition is a fight like Toney-Mcallum or the Whitaker-Mcgirt fights the DLH-Mosley II doesnt come close to the quality and the skills displayed in those fights.
LOL I think the guy was probably saying it's somewhere in between mate. It ain't Whitaker vs. McGirt but it's not ****in Haye vs. Valuev either
Clearly you don't know **** about boxing. Oscar De La Hoya effectively controlled the pace of the fight with his jab, double pump and triple pump jabs. Oscar fought very tall and from the outside. Defensively they were like the Lakers and Celtics were tonight..many combinations but quick feints, head movement, and shoulder roll. It must suck to only be able to appreciate one style of boxing...As a real fight fan I appreciate all styles. Was the fight GREAT?? NOt necessarily, but better than the **** we get today like Pac vs Clottey, Williams vs Cintron, Paulie vs Diaz etc.... Mosley vs DLH puts those fights and many others to shame.
**** post from a **** poster bringing stuff that doesnt have nothing to with anything(basketball???for ****s sake). You being the Oscar groupie that you are you probably watched that fight with your fishnets on screaming like a ***** everytime he threw a triple jab. It was so **** that you have to compare it to horrible fights like Williams-Cintron,Paulie-Diaz to try and make it look better. No wonder you're considered a joke around here.
The Irony.:-( You're obviously bitter and full of hate. I won't judge you...your life is probably ****.
Whatever Maricon. Stick with making threads in the lounge about the pleasure you have when you take a **** and leave the boxing talk to the people who know what they are talking about.
That it ain't but it was a huge disappointment compared to their first fight which is one of my all time favorite fights.
You have misunderstood that point mate, maybe I didn't explain my point properly - I was saying that if Oscar had fought Winky at lmw instead of Hopkins at mw, he would not have been KO'd.
:huh You remember wrongly then. I'm not even an Oscar fan, never mind a 'massive' one. I liked Oscar as a fighter, but no more than I liked countless others. My affection/admiration for Oscar does not come anywhere remotely close to my feelings for my actual favourite fighters like Manny Pacquiao and James Toney.
I don't think Oscar-Mosley II was close to being as bad as you make out. I could name hundreds of worse fights. Sure, if you compare it to the 1st fight it sucks, but the 1st fight was one of the fights of the decade. If you view it objectively, I think it's actually a good fight, very engaging, good quality action throughout, not a bad/boring fight by any standard.
