Andre Ward: Bute would have to face off with the Super 6 Champion to prove he’s best

The winner will be a clear number 1 - unless the win was dubious... such as the winner winning by robbery or by having all fights on homesoil. In which case nothing is really clear.

However, even if the winner is a clear and fair winner - and a clear number 1 at SMW.... the fighter is NOT undisputed. And should fight Bute.

 

What if Bute beats Dawson (nr1 in the LHW top10 p4p). Would you still put the winner of the s6 that will possibly have a loss on his resume and a questionable win(ex: Ward headbutt , Froch decision over Dirrell , Dirrell DQ W and some others that I'm pretty sure they'll follow )clear nr1 SMW against an undefeated champ that has beaten the #1 LHW ?

 

As I see it: It is ok to think or believe Bute is the #1 - but don't claim it..........

 

If you're gonna consider all that crap, then why not include Andrade's "knockout" of Bute?

There is no "knockout". That was a knockdown and Bute got up at 8 .

 

Ward beat Kessler decisively, Dirrell clearly beat Abraham, etc, etc, etc.

Gene Tunney had a long count against Dempsey.
Douglas had a long count against Tyson, and Bute had a long count against Bute.

It happens in boxing, he sure didn't come off as a winner in that first bout, but he redeemed himself by stopping Andrade.

Bute has not done anything to deserve the #1 slot though, Ward right now has a belt and the best win out of the bunch.

 

People talk about Ward's victory over Kessler like he's some kind of Highlander, a modern Duncan MacLeod. He just absorbed Kessler's soul and all those who Mikkel beat. He's much stronger now and has at leas 21+43 wins.
From where I stand Kessler could very well be the winner of the tournament. I'm not saying that Ward isn't the most talented but giving him as the n1 in SMW right now, with just 21 pro fights, is a missjudgement in my opinion. Just to put it in another way: he has the best chance of becoming number 1 even if he isn't, but that's all. The good thing is that I'm not the only one to think like that. Otherewise he would have been given n1 spot by boxing experts, magazines immediately after his win over Kessler.

 

Ok I ****ing circled into his power hand and got caught with a big left hook...and yeah I agree ETC would **** Bute up right now today, but ETC is on the downhill side of his career and if Bute can stall this out another year or so, I believe ETC will be ripe for an ass whipping. Now TBA on the other hand is a whole different story...Bute wants nothing to do with TBA...too fast, too strong, too much heart...just saying.
