There is so much talk about Mayweather-Pac not happening, but how often in history did the big matchups fall through? Im trying to think, generally they usually come through because the public demands them. The only ones I can think of are Foreman-Tyson, maybe SRL-Pryor and Lewis-Bowe. And of those the huge fight would have been foreman-tyson, which rumors say Tyson didnt want. Even fights like Tito-RJJ which everyone knew the outcome before it happened eventually came through after years of talking about it.
Ok well maybe not as big a super fight as some of those listed above, but in recent years Pavlik/Abraham.
I think history shows us the fight will happen. There are a lot of other fights that didnt get made but the timing was either not right or they were in different weight classes. Like Mosley-Tito and DLH-Hatton But Pac and PBF are both in the same weight class and have no recent losses and are near their primes. It will happen
PacGwire needs to man up and take the goddamn tests. He'll either be exposed for being a cheater/fraud or be exposed in the ring for the one dimensional fighter he is.
Should we list all the opponents we would have liked Mayweather to have faced but hasn't? Cotto, Margarito, Tszyu? JMM vs. Morales Arguello vs Duran is a fantasy fight I would have loved to have seen
Freddie Roach VS Roger Mayweather No joke, wouldn't that be awesome? Both are the same age, Roger was a Junior WW and Roach was a LW so only one weight class difference. I mean now their wards are close signing to fight, it would be for a bigger legacy for all 4 of them (Leaving the fact aside that Roach was not that great a fighter, and had only a few meaningfull bouts...)
B-Hop VS Jones II and by that I don't mean that disgrace fight of 2010-04-03 I mean the fight that should have happened 10 years ago...
