do u think roach or pac will duck mosley this time? even if mosley havent fought jr. roach will probably would wanna put pac against mosley since they know already that pac can handle any welterweights.
I don't think they would after seeing how much Mayweather's shots were hurting him, that's not really the point though and it doesn't take away from them ducking him the first time around.
Do you need a reminder that Pacquiao fought Oscar at 147 because Roach knew Hoya was shot and that fight was just a test if Pacquiao can handle the higher weight class? Pac went down to 140 to fight Hatton right after instead of going ahead and fighting legit welterweights. Mosley was a legit welterweight when he tried to get a fight at Pacquiao and Roach knew that. Why make a big fuss about that decision?
this is WRONG...since when is 143 (or 142 whatever weight mosely agreed to drain down to) a jr welterweight fight? simple and plain, they lied and said they werent interested in welterweight fights, and then went on to fight cotto because suddenly they were interested in 147 titles...Prime example of LYING and DUCKING the #1 ww at the time.
There is the issue of time running out on Pacquiao's boxing career. He will run for Congress in the Philippines in mid-May. Roach has said he doesn't think Pacquiao can be a marquee boxer and a politician at the same time. Asked about that Monday, Pacquiao says, "Why not?" There is the issue of how much these next fights could mess things up. Were Clottey to win, might not Pacquiao see that as a perfect time to retreat to politics full time? Were Mosley to win, might that not do the same thing? "Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny," Roach says. "I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter." There is the issue of Pacquiao's current lawsuit against the Mayweathers for defamation. Pacquiao's attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, says that the case is in federal court in Nevada, is moving at full speed and can be in trial by year's end. there were interviews before that pac also wants to fight shane and some false news break-out that a pac-mosley fight was already settled but when investigated, it was only from mosley's camp. if mosley is with top rank and cotto was GBP, this fight would be easily made and people would cry that pac is ducking cotto. pac-cotto was already been lined-up by arum even before all of these by making pac watch the clottey-cotto fight. as it is, pac not picking mosley at 140 which mosley offered is not even half a better fight than pac-cotto at 145.
ummm because his next fight after hatton was at welterweight...so if u say u wont fight the ww champion because ur at 140, and then u turn around and fight at ww against someone else, then u are DUCKING
do you understand that cotto and pac is with Top Rank and Mosley is with GBP? and besides pacquiao is fighting cotto. he did not fight mosley to fight cotto, the guy who had beaten mosley.
4 of Pacquiao's 5 previous fights before Cotto were with people associated with Golden Boy so lets not use that as an excuse. Nobody would have accused him of ducking Cotto to fight the #1 ranked WW and the #3 ranked P4P fighter instead.
u cant look back on a fight years prior to justify fighting cotto...the fact is that mosely was the top WW at the time and roach avoided him...now u wanna bring up the promoters, those are excuses to justify that Pacs camp avoided Mosely, the #1 ww at the time.
Yes, he did. When an older fighter offers to come all the way down in weight for a fight, but his offer is turned down then whoever rejected his deal must have saw him as too great of a threat. *Mosley just came off an impressive win by physically AZZaulting Margacheato *Mosley has the best chin at welterweight *Mosley hits the hardest at welterweight *Mosley has power in both hands *Mosley has excellent handspeed
