Rob I agree with u there! BUT we all no the boxing business and it doesnt run like that unfortunately, ie TV and so on but hopefully we can get those fights.
theres no reason why Bellew could not of had four more 8 rounders in liverpool with a few of the other liverpool lads on the card. Gavin could do the same in birmingham with broadhurst. just becuase u cant get a tv date doesnt mean you cant put on a show, the tv money from sky pays for the main event nothing else
Not that simple mate, Some people are very well paid and tickets wouldn't cut it plus you gotta have TV with fighters like frankie, The kid is Britians only ever World Am champion.. He MUST be on TV everytime he fights imo...
The problem is that with Warren not having regular TV dates, he's not able to give Gavin the outings that he needs. What I'd suggest is that Frank lobbies the board as much as he can for Gavin to be made mandatory for the British title.... TV won't pay mega bucks to screen an 8 rounder.... but they would definitely be interested in (say) this: Night of Champions Gavin vs Daws Bellew vs McIntosh/whoever DeGale vs Groves - just get it made FFS! Smith vs Simpson Stick it on in Manchester and it will sell - four British/Commonwealth title fights on a Saturday.
now degale is fighting 12 rounders he could headline small hall show and FFN with the likes of bellew gavin smith and co on the undercard
Whats happening with Micheal jennings is he becoming the most avoided man in world boxing . Why are so many people pulling out of fights with him he's an excellent fighter at british level but not a guy you'd fear for your health getting into the ring with
It's not just Michael Jennings it's all of the FW fighters "surprisingly". Funny as Rob said earlier Tyson, Benn etc. (can't be bothered to go through loads of names) all managed to get regular fights fairly easily. I wonder if FW does his "gentleman" agreement with the opponents. atsch
Its more important that he actually fights than showing it on tv. you telling me a card with you, stephen smith, liam smith and joe shelrick wouldnt sell 2000 tickets in liverpool. all in 8 rounders surley thats enough to pay you and make a profit.
It's illegal in Liverpool to buy tickets. Need 5k show at least to make money. Even then barely 1.5k will pay. Ask hayemaker about their echo show.
